I have seen “variations” on eBay that are cunning little tricks to fool the customer. They appear in search as a very low-priced item, but when you go to the detail page, the price shown is for the “default option”, which is some minor part of the item you want to buy, such as the plastic base for the webcam, rather than the webcam.
The “choices” are all webcam related, so the “variation” is legit, but it is still misleading, and it likely frustrates the customer into giving up on what should be a simple price comparison, as when one seller does it, the others follow suit.
