AI Apps and Photos

I have often complained about the challenge I face when photographing a white doily and needing that white Amazon background. I just sewed up a new collection, and while it’s not a bleached white, it is one shade off…An AI app did a great job at removing the background and giving me I think a great main photo.

Normally, I’ve started by photographing the item on white and then going to fotofuze. Not tis time. My first picture was this:

On my Android phone, I downloaded an app called Arvin

It removed the background and gave me this:

Then I asked for some AI generated backgrounds and here’s a few:

I also played around with Canva because I can’t seem to get the app Arvin to work on my laptop and Canva would be phone and laptop. But honestly, I think the Arvin result for the white background looks much better than the Canva result.

We have a lot of pictures to update, and add, and now maybe even more work if this AI makes the real world looks look good. (VS my dining room table all the time).

Wow, very nice! Thanks for sharing your experience with Arvin, good to know.

To be clear: if the pattern of the doily matters, all of those are various similar creations, but not the same one you submitted.
The first AI-gen lifestyle image has 9 outer feather ‘fan’ points rather than 8, and 10 fleur de lis rather than 8 on the inner.
The second AI-gen lifestyle image has 10 fleur de lis.
The third AI-gen lifestyle image has a visibly different fan point, mostly lacks the mesh between the fan point and the inner fleur de lis section, which has mutated into 9 fleur de lis.

I noticed that too that AI actually changed a square into a round. UNTIL I did a top down view. Then it left it alone

On Gemini, sometimes you have to select “try again” several times to get it right and even then it does not always get it.
