Alexa search on the Amazon app slows your shopping to a craw

If you see slow sales its Amazon’s fault.

Now by default in the app when you search something it throws the results into Alexa AI that takes 30+ seconds to return useless information only so you can click “show search results”.

Only amazon would come up with a process to require a user click extra things to do what the user wants to do in the first place.

I don’t use the app at all because it’s so slow.

Hurk. Why would they ruin a … reasonably… functional search feature by vomiting LLM slop instead?

They’ve been doing that for years on every thing they can. Remember when you could list an item, and hit submit, then list another? Now it’s “Ready to Submit”, “Submit”, then “List another”. Repricing used to be “enter the price”. Then “Enter the price, and press the Enter key”. Now it’s "Enter the price, press the Enter key, then press the button that popped up at the bottom of the page.

When I was working in IT (back in the days before anyone called it ‘IT’), we made a major software change to save warehouse workers a single keystroke. Now no one cares if the changes made cut productivity by 50% or more.

But the worst part is, it’s not just Amazon…
