Amazon Advertising Going UP (Do the Math)

" Amazon has announced a major overhaul of its fee structure for deals, coupons, and promotions, set to take effect on June 2, 2025 . The shift moves away from fixed fees towards a performance-based model that incorporates daily charges and a percentage of sales. While Amazon promotes these changes as a way to make deals more accessible and flexible, many sellers are concerned about the potential increase in costs."

Nice summary of fee structure changes for Deals and Coupons including Prime Day 2025:

Prime Day 2025: Higher Promotional Fees

Amazon has confirmed that Prime Exclusive Discounts (PEDs) —a high-visibility promotion type during Prime Day—will see a fee increase from $50 to $100 . This signals Amazon’s intent to further monetize Prime Day promotions, which already favor sellers with larger advertising budgets. Additional details on Prime Day promotional fees will be released in late June.

Some good tips in that article!

I think the worst part about this whole thing is the inability to edit deals to add products…

I’ll give you all a real life example of how badly this screws sellers…

Big Spring Sale - We have 1 listing that we want to get moving better so added a PED for it when the event started. $50

We are going to add all of our listings to the event either tomorrow or Friday. $50

We have a Big Spring Deal lightning deal on our hero listing on Saturday, which means we need to remove the PED at 2:59AM EST Friday.

LD runs on Sat and we need to add the the parent and child back for Sun and Mon, when the 12 hour deal ends (to wrap up the deal), which are also our 2 best days of the week. $50.

So if this was last year, it would have cost $50 under the old workflow / process.

This year - $150
