Amazon Ordering Free Replacements Rather Than Processing an A-Z Claim

Gotcha. (I used to love the old NES 8-bit game with the zapper)

Your buyer will have 30 days from today to send back the original item now that you shipped the replacement.

I was not aware of the updated policy Replacements for seller-fulfilled returns policy [link].

If the buyer does not ship the original item back, then you should receive an automatic reimbursement but you would want to keep track of this particular replacement order return to make sure.

After you receive the original damaged item back, you may be able to file a claim with the shipping carrier for damages. I would wait to receive the original before deciding about a Damage Claim. It also depends if the buyer actually returns the original.

If the replacement is shipped and delivered and the return label is not used, the buyer is supposed to be charged for the replacement order.

Whether or not this works in practice, I do not know as I have not had the pleasure of experiencing this first hand.

The advent of the 020824 News Headline “Instant replacements are available for seller-fulfilled returns” (link, ‘id’ v.), which heralded the last-known revision in this published policy, was when I first heard tell of a Replacement Order being placed sans an acceptance scan upon the Buyer’s label, as such a scenario was pointed out more than once in that News Headlines’ accompanying NSFE discussion (link), right from the get-go, by some 3P Sellers.

In the ensuing 6½ months, the crescendo of similar reports has only appeared to increase - here, there, and elsewhere.

So have the reports of Amazon failing to honor that guarantee more often in the breach than the observance…

Thank you, my friend. The news posting had slipped my mind.

It does align more closely to how FBA operates.
