Now that the service has been around for awhile, has anyone used this service? How are packages dropped off? I sell out of my house. Do they pick up from the house?
There are posts about this on the NSFE. I would not do it because sellers have reported sometimes they donāt pick up in time or at all causing them issues with shipping metrics. They do pick up or they are supposed to anyway.

And (just from reading the forum) Amazonās response to trouble with their shipping is every bit as reasonable and responsive as Amazon seller support/performance.
Yepper, most recently in the ill-considered response from the mostly-reliable member of the FMT-CMT (āForum Moderation Teamā-āCommunity Management Teamā), CR - linking a prior NSFE discussion which has nothing to do with the OPās question - in this NSFE discussion (link ābrokenā for display in the Discourse Platform) from 3Aprā24:

Is there any interest in me TOFTT on this one? I just got the option on one orderā¦
Place your betsā¦
I am wondering if it will be easier if they pick up from a commercial warehouse location. I am curious if some on the NSFE may be home sellers or smaller locations harder to find or pickup from causing their issues.
Oh and for all you FBA haters out thereā¦
This is the same ASIN on FBA with a $5 average inbound LTL shipping cost.
DAMNIT!!!
I found out how to get them to pick up shipping. Still afraid to try this but will do it if somehow the cost is way cheaper than other options.
Yes. Be afraid. Very afraid.
All too many Amazon actions have no undo.
Ok, so after some digging and finding out that you have to set up your location at https://ship.amazon.com/ , everything has worked as expected.
Our pickup fee was ~6$ but we had 4 shipments that were WAY cheaper than FedEx ground by $10+ each.
NOWā¦ big caveat here. This was a commercial operation they were picking up at a 200K Sf warehouse, with a big sign over a loading dock that says SHIPPING. This may not work for a home address where we all know they will try and read the street address and drive away if a moth is on their windshield and say they couldnāt find it.
So far, 30-40% reduction in shipping costs for UPS/FedEx, and tracking is visible.
I will try and take screenshots for comparisons if I remember.
Make sure when you use this service that you donāt let your dumbest employee deal with the Amazon driver, as it will create a vortex of stupidity that will ruin your day and make other employees question the minimum standards of their employer.
When the Amazon driver looks at a FedEx label and goes āya thats itā and takes someone elseās shipment, leaving the TBA shipment on the dock, make sure your employee whose intellectual capacity is limited to using a mop, is NOT the one backing up the Amazon equivalent driving a blue van.
Ughā¦ $1200 order. Facepalm.
They said āOpen a warehouse in Texas and everything will be better.ā Nope, more āduhā making this the 4th moron in two months at $23/hr. who canāt follow a simple checklist. We fired one guy last month for leaving the back door to the warehouse unlocked for a 3 day weekend. Another one got rear ended using the work truck to go to walmart at 8pm on a Sunday instead of using their own car for this personal BS. The first one had a death wish by not following simple safety rules.
I donāt operate that warehouse, so this employees fate is in someone elses hands, but I will be using these examples as to why we used to only hire veterans.
*Yes I know there are dumb veterans too, but at least we know they can follow a checklist, say yes sir/maāam and show up on time and have some basic standards of competency.
Useless Amazon says call customer serviceā¦ Makes me want to do violence to the company.
Rant over.
Love that bit !
Yet another cautionary tale from the NSFE, posted earlier today by a seasoned forum vet, but with a new twist:
