Amazon Suspending Carriers

We have recently experienced a few carriers that have been suspended by Amazon and are not able to schedule appointments for FBA deliveries to FC’s.

Last week it was Oak Harbor Freight Lines and this week it is R+L Carriers. We spoke with a OHFL rep in Seattle and she acknowledged it was due to repeated missed appointments at their FC’s.

Evaluate if using an Amazon partnered carrier or your own carrier is the right option for your operations when carriers perform poorly.

I wonder how low a carrier’s ODR has to get to be suspended… Did they write an appeal?

Maybe they missed the Ferry lol. R+L is pretty big. Wonder if that suspends them nationwide.

Did you experience this before or after the goods were on the truck?

Wonder if they care…???

Maybe their drivers are tired of waiting in line for 8 hours to drop off a load they are making a couple hundred bucks on.

If you haven’t, google a few Amazon FC’s and read the reviews from the truckers. Let’s just say they aren’t 5 stars.

The Oak Harbor shipment was to Seattle, and the RL was in Texas. They both tried to say they could not make an appointment, and when pressed as to if they new how to use carrier central, it came out that they were suspended by Amazon, not that they could not “make” the appointment.
Their billing department was aghast, when we informed them that we would not be paying the tariff for non delivery due to the obvious repeated poor performance.

“If you want to be paid for this shipment, kindly pay TForce for making the delivery for you, as I can provide you their higher billed invoice” . LOL

There is a long history of Amazon hogging trailers too. Years ago Reddaway told us they would not pick up, unless Amazon released 1:1 empty trailer for each loaded one from the FC’s.

This happened maybe 4 years ago with NEMF and Central Transport as well - they were refusing to drop trailers at Amazon FCs because they were running out of empty boxes for themselves.

So got a confirmation today from a dispatcher for FedEx freight. Amazon fulfilment centers are being boycott by FedEx Freight and shipments will be returned if tendered.
