Sorry for all the questions on Canada. All I want do is create a parent listing but the Canada template does not have partial update, just Full Update or Ignore, so being careful on adding the listings in without adjustments.
So, I downloaded a template spreadsheet from Amazon Canada, and something weird stands out…
My sku: leash-reflective-black
the sku the canada template has:1C7A-Y70X-RIVP (this was auto imported over when I agreed to remote fulfillment)
Super weird. So that’s my first concern. Can I change that or does it break the FNSKU and listing in Canada?
Second concern. Nowhere on my downloaded template for CA marketplace is there a Variations section. Why would they leave that off?

Actually, update. I don’t know why all that gets left off when downloading a spreadsheet with ASIN references, but the Variation section comes back when downloading a blank template for the category.
It also allows the Partial Update in the blank template.
But, again, my primary concern now is the weird SKU each listing has that’s not correct:
Do I need to worry about that “Listing Identity” section or ignore it?

Given the way in which that listing was created, the CA SKU is most-likely one that Amazon’s automated mechanisms created for you - that’s the default behavior, if the seller doesn’t supply one themselves, for every Global Marketplace I’m familiar with.
Changing that SKU should, by design, indeed generate a new FNSKU, so in you situation I would refrain from doing that.

It gets more strange. When I download the CA Category Listings Spreadsheet, there it has the correct SKUs that match my USA listings.
So when I download the auto-created template by providing the ASIN list I’m working on, it gives me SKUs that look auto-generated. But then their category listing report, they are correct.
and in the Manage All Inventory page list, I can see the correct USA skus in the CA marketplace as well.
Very weird. THe idea that it can autogenerate a spreadsheet prefilled with the ASINs (I’m working on) sounds awesome, but the data in it was strange. (and the inability to partial update is odd too)
