Do you allow customers to return after 30 days? I'm worried about receiving a 1 star review or A to Z claim.

,

Borrow this from Bookworm’s reply:

I would have merely agreed with the customer and said,

indeed

BTW you’re next day air service price seems a little low. Just overnighting a single page document UPS last time I had to ship from a UPS Store was like $125. So you should try and at least make it believable…

No need to share with our customers that certain negotiated commercial accounts are a little cheaper…

My story is from USPS…but I wanted to share how customers are all about them, and not the whole picture.

Automated shipping setting have often been the culprit for me as well.

Priority Express 1 day flat rate padded envelope Seattle to Boston is $29.45

I have learned the more entangled you get with helping a buyer with unusual requests or out of policy requests, the greater the chances of the order blowing up in your face.

This buyer is past the refund period. Therefore, I do not recommend having the buyer call customer service, as she will likely be issued a returnless refund.

This buyer knows the refund system and is not as naive as she appears. My guess is she opted to go through the message system as she believes she can squeeze a refund out of you more quickly than going through Amazon for her FBA purchase.

No response needed to her messages. Protect yourself from her abuse.

That’s what I’m concerned about. Oh well, I already replied to her. Lesson learned. Thanks for your advice.

Depends on how many orders vs how many A2Z.
See your ODR:

This sounds like a buyer who already has been told by Amazon that the return window has passed, been unable to get approval to return from Amazon and has decided to see what you will do.

Some sellers will be inclined to accept a return because it is the lowest hassle alternative and they will not be hurt significantly by the refund. Other sellers will fight to the death rather than provide an unjustified refund.

Had the request for the price reduction come on Ebay, where buyers can be blocked, and I did not like the tone of the message, they would have become a blocked buyer.

Since it was on Amazon, I would not have responded.

I would probably behave like other posters and click the ignore button at this point.

Yes, but I think it should be about you. You are worth so much more… stop selling yourself short… That is all.

@HumbleWarrior @Amazon_Seller

Some nationalities or cultures do consider “haggling” (negotiating) a price to be customary in most transactions.

However, googling an Amazon buyer is against policy, and the information doing so provides in no way indicates whether that buyer is from or has experience in such an environment.

And regardless, haggling an online retail order on Amazon is not the cultural standard, anywhere.

These words and only these words should be your response in the future, and no googling!
