And it continues. eBay denied my objection to the second return (I had provided pictures of the item returned with the label they had provided the buyer) which prompted me to appeal. eBay then required that I print out, sign and upload a statement saying I hadn’t received the item I shipped. Remember, I am one of their “top rated sellers” with over 2,100 positive feedback selling since 2008–heavy sigh). I was never reimbursed for the shipping labels eBay provided (even though I asked for that throughout the appeal process).
The buyers moved onto other items in my shop when I deleted the previous listing.
Since the above, I have received and cancelled 5 more orders from zero feedback buyers (the most recent being on Dec 28).
I received a few orders in November and December, but not what I would have expected since I sell items used to make homemade holiday gifts.
Done! It has been so long since I had problems with eBay buyers, I had forgotten we have this option.
Since these different accounts have zero feedback (one of them now has (1) feedback, so I am guessing they scammed someone else) and are opened right when they buy something, I am not sure how effective it will be (guessing they will just open a new buyer account), but at least I can prevent future purchases from these buyers.
Your Feedback is not relevant to anything. Unlike Amazon where it is a component of the Order Defect Rate, Ebay does not use your FB to evaluate you as a seller.
This is important to accept and influence your thinking. The DSRs are not used either. They are window dressing which would be removed if they did not fear bad PR.
The FB ratio on Amazon is a similar vestigial organ on Amazon. Its potential replacement by objective measures generated negative reactions from sellers who had nothing going for them other than a rating of 100%.
Ebay does not care about FB, Amazon does not care about FB. A majority of the buyers on Amazon and Ebay do not care about FB which is why the leave less and less FB every year.
As for TRS status, you do not get a badge unless your listings meet TRS+ status and that is viewed as a listing recommendation, not a seller recommendation.
TRS is simply a requirement for TRS+, like one day shipping and 30 day returns.
I am TRS, I am not TRS+ because that is too much like selling on Amazon. I now run an operation which provides lower expectations and exceeds them.
