FTC Targets Amazon Seller for Review Hijacking

Not sure why this is news again today, but I did notice this quote, similar to above:

quoting a former Bountiful employee as saying this method helped “ramp” newer products up faster since “they were NOT selling and we wanted to give them a little boost in R[atings]&R[eviews] to gain visibility and allow them to also borrow the ‘amazon choice’ badge and best seller badge which worked.”

I find this all hilarious as a former and proud c-suite member of a division of this company.

Yea, they ■■■■■■ me over when they sold off my division to PE which subsequently bankrupted it but regardless, the entire Nature’s Bounty Assortment is 1P. Amazon knew what was going on and just let it slide by because Nature’s Bounty brands sell hundreds of millions a year on Amazon.

You can’t tell me that there weren’t category managers at Amazon that looked at these listings and how they were set up.

All about the $…
