How is MakerPlace Doing?

Michaels and Makerplace down for couple hours at least as of 8am PST. Not that I need to check for orders LOL

False alarm…maybe. Cleared cookies and working fine on chrome now.

Started a sale this morning on Makerplace trying to revive my shop after no sales for 9 weeks. I get a sale within an hour of it being active. I then get a message on an Etsy sale requesting to cancel an order. You guessed right. Same buyer.

Nooooo - Oh that’s so frustrating.

Since I had only 1 sale in all of 2025, MakerPlace has mostly fallen off my radar. I do keep inventory up-to-date, and I change my pinned posts every month, probably more for my own amusement than anything else.

Maybe I should try that. Anything would be an improvement.

Lately when I go to print orders I get ā€œundefinedā€ and other incomplete data on the printout. I’ve tried multiple browsers and messaged support but no solution yet. Is this happening to others? Same results on old or new orders.

I haven’t had any sales there since Feb, so I have no idea what’s happening there. So, how do ship the orders?

I have been shipping without a copy of the order. Buy shipping works fine.

Yes, I’m seeing this as well. My workaround is to hit ā€œview invoiceā€ and then highlight the whole thing, right click then Print.

Congrats on ā€œFeatured Sellerā€!

Thanks! I didn’t know I was one, but I dug around on the site and found it. Wish I could say it has helped sales.

I hear ya. I’m down to about one order every 2 weeks. I’m not paying any subscription now but I won’t be putting a lot of effort into Makerplace at this point.

It’s disappointing to hear that. Kind of reinforced the idea of no reason to make any effort on that site anymore.

I feel that is the trending direction my online shops are taking now anyway.

Yeah, I’ve had two orders this month and two last month. Before that, I hadn’t had a sale since April. I do way better on my own site. I really want to figure out google shopping ads, but it is soooo intimidating.

Same. I am reluctant to spend any ad money beyond Amazon and Ebay. At least on ebay, you only pay if it sells.

Hello, I’m new to this forum and would appreciate any info on selling on MakersPlace. I sell on Et$y but have also tried Ecrater and Zibbet. I did well on Zibbet but not so much on Ecrater. Zibbet was sold to Michael’s and this is where MakersPlace came from. I’m considering opening a shop on MakersPlace but was wondering how it works as for remitting taxes and such like Et$y does. Are they comparable?

Welcome to SAS!

We personally do not have experience with MakerPlace but several others here do have. Some information may be found in the posts above about how MakerPlace has been going.

But for now … we welcome you to the SAS forum.

Welcome. For the first year Michael’s had a lot of bug’s to work out. The site is still antiquated in features. That first year they advertised heavily and my sales were great (lots more than Etsy for me) but as soon as they stopped, sales died off to nothing. They basically stopped vetting handmade sellers and non handmade products and sellers flooded in.

Like Amazon, Etsy, and Ebay, they collect and remit sales taxes so no worries there.

You will need to direct and self promote as not many people are aware of Makerplace much like Ecrater. Makerplace seems to want sellers that are buying their supplies from Michael’s.
