Oh yes, many times…amazon.com/shops/my store name, and amazon.com/my store name. Oddly it came back for maybe a week and then reverted to cr*p again.
Actually $525 per class of goods if you DIY, but yes one must look at the issue of being one of a “brand” not a “store name”.
Clearly the name HAS value, so you should consider documenting your “use in commerce” and right to the name. The trademark registration is an additional step to consider.

Thanks all. I went with the attorney option who I vetted and he charges $750 including the USPTO fee and he monitors the progress of the application. Just finished filing today. For me, worth the extra couple of hundred to know it was done correctly.
I concur, especially-so on a ‘first go-round’ with the USPTO such as you are conducting.
That being said, when it comes time to file USPTO extension several years after the protection is granted, I would recommend considering the already-extant SAS threads which provide clear examples of how to reduce additional cost by uploading documentation yourself.
If you’re spending time marketing on social media I might suggest looking at building your own REAL brand/website to market. Why spend your labor marketing for Amazon who one day is going to kick you out (maybe not directly, but indirectly by hiking fees to the point where you can’t afford it) and give you nothing in return?
In the meantime, if you want to pump your Amazon store, as suggested above, I would forget about the /shops/ URL if it has problems, and try the merchant token link, that will ALWAYS work since your merchant token cannot change.

Well I started selling one Amazon in 2003 so I probably was grandmothered in, as it worked for years, until it didn’t.

It does not work for me. It links to everyone’s items for a given book on my list, with my particular copy usually not visible on that first page.. The link that I had ,and no longer have. led directly to my list of my books but ONLY my available copy, not the whole of Amazon.

AFAIK, that’s something which only EVER has applied over in the Handmade Artisan Marketplace - where the available evidence over the last 5 business quarters has strongly suggested that the waiver has become more problematic, as far as convincing the gatekeeping Amabots to issue even the lowest-tier acknowledgement of a creditable pass. in many a fora - and since I believe that you’re more of a BMVD Seller than a Handmade Seller, I strongly suspect this possible workaround isn’t something you will be able access.

Yes. I welcome your help, and yes ,I am a “professional seller”, paying dues monthly for the privilege, have an assigned storefront url, but no, it doesn’t work properly.. And hours of trying just yield despair at this point, so I guess I will try to let go. Which is hard because I have a bulldog gene. But I am breathing, in through the nose, and fire out the mouth.
Does everyone with a professional account get a store? I thought that only happened with Brand Registry or the waiver. Before my waiver, I did not have a storefront.
When I first signed up on Amazon as a professional seller about 20 years ago I got a storefront and a URL. At some point it seems my URL got removed without my knowledge.
