Is Amazon now treating their buyers the way they treat their sellers?

Good news! The human being who was reached today by phone stepped up to the plate and processed the refund; this email below confirmed it. Once the refund shows up on our cc account, Mr. Marth’s Amz account will be closed. We’re not the “keep shopping on Amazon, but take pictures with the delivery driver” types!
PS: Thought you might all enjoy the (violating!) title of the returned product:

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Amazon.

We have issued a refund of $###.## for The Dante AVIO 1-Channel Analog Output Adapter Lets You Send Mono Audio from a Dante Network to Analog Equipment Such as a Powered Speaker, Amplifier, Signal Processor, or Mixer :joy: will be refunded to your [cc], within 5-7 business days.
We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you during the process and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
Amazon.com

PPS: We actually had neither patience nor understanding, but thanks for thinking the best of us, Amazon!

Gracious is a word never heard at Amazon, and not often by the younger generation.

i have to remind my son to send an email to his aunt and uncle who send him birthday checks (yes, he has to be instructed about writing and cashing checks, still) to thank them.

His recent online health insurance renewal also required my help, and what a fricking mess it was.

Did you actually get your refund?

Did you actually get your refund?

Yes! Nice relief not to have to drag this out any longer. :slightly_smiling_face:

One last oddity here: I never saw my husband’s big order, but noticed the Amazon refund I saw online on our cc account states: Appears on statement as AMAZON MKTPLACE PMTS

So, as we’d all suspect already after seeing that wonky page title, this was a Marketplace purchase. So WHY AND HOW ON EARTH did Amazon get involved to the level of shutting down Mr Marth’s entire account? Since when have they cared so much about their seller’s refunds? And what happened to that alleged “linked with a violating account” baloney?

Seriously, weird piling on weird here.
