Need a good printer

Printers are one of my most hated pieces of technology. My husband curses them because every time he goes to print, something goes wrong. It takes tons of time setting, resetting, cleaning, aligning, updating drivers, etc.

RIP Canon… Dreaded E225 error. Canon stopped supporting this one in 2017. I tried some of the quick fixes I saw online, and even took the scanner deck apart to see if there was something binding it up. I’ve never actually used the scanner but if that module is throwing a code, nothing else works. Poor design.

Got a good deal at Staples on a HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3101fdw. $299.

Setup took about 68 seconds. Seems to work well and fast wirelessly.

From the 1 page I have printed so far - highly recommend. Haha

Seconded. Have one at the office and one at home. No issues other than the self generated ones by my 78 YO mother, who cannot see when the kids take paper out and leave the tray ajar.
“God Dam n printer is broken again..” sound of 13 year old closing paper tray… “Oh, never mind”.

Have a HP LaserJet Pro M402dw and HP LaserJet Pro M426fdw.
Been using them for years with no problems. We got the extra tray (Tray 3) that holds a full ream of paper for the M402dw. Both use the same toner cartridge.

Since starting this thread, I got the HP Smart Tank and have been so happy with it that I bought 3 of them - one for the family. The ink lasts forever and manually cleaning the printheads is a cinch.
