Big televised events do tend to lower sales. Superbowl does it.

For me, sales are random enough that I would never notice if they did. 
If it has any effect on my sales, it will likely be positive, as I have a lot of books related to international issues, so might spark interest in someone. But unless someone dies and their book starts selling, hard to attribute any sales to any particular activity (other than a LOT of Israeli related books after the war started there; but that’s slowed now).

This week has been so hectic (replaced A/C, went out of town overnight, etc., etc.) that I just tuned out the debate. I’m watching a baseball game instead.
I do have one FBM order though. It’s a book about a U.S. President – George Washington.

Yeah, I’m not bothering to watch. Been going through some of the books that an unknown person left on my sidewalk last night; so far, only one that might be worth listing, from Harry S Truman. So I guess it fits.
But now I’m gonna stop and play some poker. If I decide to watch any TV, probably be replays from the Olympic Trials. Or random YouTube stuff. Certainly not bothering with the debates; my blood pressure is high enough already.

Speaking of the upcoming Olympics, I hear tell that NBC is planning to provide updates with an AI-generated version of the venerable sports broadcaster Al Michaels’ voice.
Given the tie-in with Amazon Prime Video (re: Mr. Michaels’ ongoing gig with its high-valued & highly-expensive acquisition of the exclusive rights to televise NFL Thursday Night Football), I shouldn’t be surprised.
But I’m gonna have to rake in more than few pots in order to get the bad taste out of my mouth…

I did not watch. It was a conscious decision.
This morning I was amazed by the commonality of the reaction by the talking heads of both persuasions.
Maybe Americans can come together on something, if it is obvious enough. Might be the most encouraging outcome possible.
