I hope @bookwormapril sees this.
I read @joebcrafts statement to recently retired systems engineer husband because some of this thread is going way, way over my head. He said when he began in the âcomputer businessâ it was 8 bits!!
Poor man has to speak in 2- syllable words to me about software/bits/browsers/operating systems or anything related to TECH or my jaw drops and my eyes roll upwards.
After over a half-century together, he understands my inabilities and talks to me about computer issues like a 7-year- oldâa non-computer literate child, which would be difficult to locate in todayâs elementary schools!!
(We use Windows 11-and like it fine, not that much better than 10 but were forced to buy a new modem today because the old one doesnât interfaceâŚ)
@bookwormapril and wasnât there someone else? Maybe @Tvoi? Or @selg? ![]()
Do PMs here also get e-mailed? Perhaps you could copy and message the post to her to see in her e-mail (assuming that she is more diligent about checking e-mail than I am)
That depends on your user settings. I have mine set to not email me when I receive a PM.
Thatâs what I figured. So worth a try, at least.
I had the thought that I would respond to her post in a closed group on NSFE telling her to turn this on, but then did a
realizing that if she canât access the SAS, she canât turn it on. Duh.
It worked! (your hint about Supermium that is)
Thanks ever so much!
Glad youâre back.
You have 219 threads to catch up on, get hopping! ![]()
Youâre welcome! Glad I was able to get the message to you!
Yes, I know thatâs what it should have been. I just wondered if it was intentional for some reason that I wasnât understanding.
Sometimes people can go their whole lives misunderstanding a common idiom/saying. It happened to me once but I forget what it was.
So I always try to gently ask when I see it, because I surely would want to know if Iâm misquoting a popular adage! (I know thatâs not the case here, judging by his reaction!) ![]()
It was an auto correction gone wrong
Thatâs what I figured by your âface palm.â ![]()
Waaay too much of that on social media.
But it does create some funny stuff at times.
