The deal with these, afaict is they go into effect the day the current 10% ones expire, so there should mostly be a net 0 change.
I don’t care who you voted for, I think we are ALL TIRED OF THIS GAME.

Well, they are in effect at least for a few days. I’m just glad I don’t depend on plywood, fabric, or cooking/baking supplies.
I tried to post links to the actual lists of items hit here but it went to a ‘log in’ page and not the actual lists which are WAY too long to post.
Ughhhhh.

Yeah the list is very strange and honestly I dont think will last too long, so I am glad I got my last Toronto shipment a few weeks ago.

Anything older than the United States is probably worth a lot and probably only bought by the elite with money to burn so it wouldn’t be prudent to tax and upset the base.

Sounds cheap to me. $250 to unclog a toilet, since all of the plumbers in our area went to fixed pricing for everything to better compete with their internet based competition like Angie’s list, or actually to up their revenue.

Listen, I know this topic is a hot topic and highly political, but tariffs seriously effect us as sellers as well as the end user. I want to thank everyone for keeping the discussion scope narrow over our few tariff threads and hope we can continue that trend here.

This is an example of how the list reflects the effects of past policies. It is not random, whether it is wise or not.
The US has had protectionist tariffs for years. US buyers pay more than world market prices for sugar and products manufactured using sugar. They have for so long that I can’t remember which president and party deserve the blame for it and the large number of candy manufacturers who moved their factories to Canada.
I wish I could say that all of the items on the list had a justifiable reason for being there, but I cannot. That could easily be my lack of knowledge, not a sigh that they are randomly chosen.

Yep, that sounds right.
That was about when Coca-Cola came out with “New” Coke, which contained corn syrup instead of sugar, and lasted long enough for people to forget how Real Coke tasted, so that when they reversed course and did “Classic” Coke, they could sweeten it with corn syrup instead of the now-more-expensive sugar.
And no, it does NOT taste the same. Doesn’t even sound or look the same when you pour a glass.

Do NOT get me started on Cokes these days, except that all of the economic uncertainty has lead some establishments to weaken their syrup-to-seltzer ratio and yes I asked for the manager.
Don’t drink, don’t smoke, what do you do? 👀
I drink Coke, that’s what I do.
Not diet.
Not zero.
Full tilt Coke.
(Sometimes with whiskey or rum.)
