I saw a Canadian press conference where it was stated that Canada will match the US Tariffs dollar-for-dollar. Assuming the US tariffs go into effect September 8, and Canada follows suit immediately, I’m looking at an additional 50% tariff on 2 of my 3 HS codes that I sell on [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) and Amazon.ca that ship to Canada.
Since I must include DDP on all Canadian-delivered orders, I have to massively adjust my [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) shipping templates for Canada to include this. Or, I just delete Canada from the [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) templates.
For my Amazon.CA listings, I can just increase all my prices 50% higher to accommodate the increased tariff expense that is seller-burdened.
Is there a more elegant way to handle the expected 50% tariff increases for product shipping to Canada from the US?
The silver lining here is that I have some Canadian hijackers that are on some of my Amazon.CA listings. Once I increase my prices, I will lose even more of my brand’s Buy Boxes to these hijackers. When the order lands in their freight-forwarding warehouses in the US, the tariffs become the responsibility of the hijacker. That will be a nice surprise for them. I hope they aren’t aware of this wrinkle and get caught in the middle.

Just remember that some number of your listings will get high-price-bot’d.

- supply chain issues,

Some good news, I just discovered I was incorrect on 2 of my 3 products’ country of origin - both were going to be subject to the 50% retaliatory tariff. My 3rd product will remain US origin but the HS code isn’t subject to the massive tariff increase.
So the good news is my DHL orders to Canada will cost me less. Since I no longer have to re-price all my Amazon.CA listings to include the new tariff, I just lost a silver-lining against my .CA hijackers. But I’m sure they don’t correctly report the country of origin when drop-shipping from their NY warehouse into Canada.
