The Amazon INR Three Second Rule

We added a minor addition to match what is on the Amazon customer facing help page

Three days have passed since the latest estimated delivery date

Related to the three days. However, let’s all think about that. Amazon has trained customers to “I want it and I want it now!” think Veronica in Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory.

Now, a three day delay, on what they think is a X day delay is not tolerable to them. Stupid Amazon.

Off to pick up some raw materials we just ran out of, thank you for the work you are doing on the guide.

ETA; OK where and when in the world did Wi!!y !! used instead of ll become a naught word?

Well that all depends on how it is framed to the customer. ( Note - this would be only for INR issues )

To help you with the refund due to Item Not Received through the Amazon A to Z claim process, the attached PDF instructions will help guide you in entering your Item Not Received Claim with Amazon. Please note that Amazon policy requires you to wait three days after the last expected delivery day shown on your order. You can view the Amazon A to Z guidelines here. For you, the day to start the Amazon A to Z claim refund process would be September 17, 2023.

Amazon has this three day period as sometimes the delivery is one day after the delivery date do to carrier experiencing issues like weather events. It also allows time for the computer systems to update which allows for Amazon to accurately view the delivery or non-delivery details.

We understand your frustration and hope our information will help you with your Amazon A to Z claim process.

The PDF instructions referred to as being attached will be posted when we get it done.

Real simple. I reply to INRs with this. Of course I confirm the PO arrival scan date first and use Amazon buy shipping.

I’m sorry you did not receive your package. USPS tracking shows this was delivered August 11, 2023, 12:21 pm to your mailbox. You can file an A-Z claim for a full refund. To file a claim Go to Your Orders.
Locate the order.

Select your problem from the list.
Select Request Refund.
Enter your comments in the text box.
Select Submit.

It was to an apartment complex, one of our largest INR delivery locations.

Did you try contacting the apartments? I’ve called them on occasion, when one of their residents claims INR. It’s my belief that very few packages are actually missing, in many cases, the recipients just don’t know how to find them. With apartments, the ‘missing’ package is most likely at the office.

So a call to the office to ask - are you holding a package there for the resident of apt xxx? - can often resolve the issue with less effort than trying to explain how INR’s work.

Good Point. We are living in a temporary apartment and the mailroom and clubhouse is a hot mess with Amazon Packages. They try, the manager and one of the residents, write the building and unit number in big print and put them in a post office bin by building. (Yes the ones with a huge fine for misuse, another story.)

However, in this case, “Did not arrive in time.” would be the alternative. And we all know how that works out. Yes did not arrive in time for them, but arrived before the last day of the delivery window.

I much prefer INR, and the ability to use Amazon Shipping as a net to get paid for this order.

Again, the pre-school has opened, “My First Day” has little value at this point. Though they did order “My Last Day” too. For this reason, on this type of item, with the reports from the customer, it would be better if they did not find it.

Don’t forget to update us @Image

Sure, nothing much to say at this point.

Since we have to wait the three days so it will take to the start of next week. Funny, we have to respond in 24 hours, Amazon, not so much.

If they provide bad feedback, we know that will get struck through automatically based on past issues.

The customer has not responded. We advised that in addition to contacting us the rules require they wait until 3 days from the last delivery date.

Frankly (I don’t like that word, and used it intentionally) I think Amazon just puts up these gates, or barriers to frustrate people so they give up. That is wrong and does not delight the customer.

Think trying to change your cable package with your local provider. Good luck with that.

So maybe they have truly received the message.
