Donā€™t look @maintak but Iā€™m starting brunch earlyā€¦plain and chocolate iced from a local shop (they were covered up!) and, yes, an Egg McMuffin.

one small ā€œclaim to fameā€, I have is that

In the early 70ā€™s when I was 14 or so, I worked at the Big Donut ( now the ā€œfamousā€ Randys Donut ).

Got up at 5, rode my bike 3 miles, and well made donuts.
Why they would hire me? Probably cheap labor, as I did not bring much to the table !!

Back then, I do remember, it was not very busy at all, but today, it is crazy.

Now, it seems that, no matter the time of day, the line to order snakes around the block.

LOL my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach, I only finished the chocolate iced and half the Egg Mc! :woman_facepalming: But enjoyed every bite and will eat the plain soon!

My actual favorite donut is fudge-iced creme-filled from Dunkin or Krispy Kreme, but today the local shop was on my route. And I do love a warm plain glazed from KK any timeā€¦

Mrs. Johnson went to our church when I was a wee lad 50 years ago. Still going strong with long since new owners but still has a loyal customer base. Best breakfast taco shop next door too.
