There are many third-party apps that provide historical pricing data for products sold on Amazon by scraping data, but most of those are at a cost, require registration, and/or can not _quite_ guarantee their data (though I personally have found both [Keepa and CamelCamelCamel](https://goaura.com/blog/camelcamelcamel-vs-keepa) helpful, for different things–no affiliation with either, though!).

But what about Sellers who don’t want to pay or register for pricing updates? Or prefer more targeted or reliable data?

Two options recently mentioned elsewhere on SellersAskSellers:

One from me…

> [@money\_bag US economy chat ... econochat!](https://sellersasksellers.com/t/us-economy-chat-econochat/4367/361):
>
> I put items that I might be interested in into my “saved for later” because Amazon alerts you [in your Cart] when the prices of those items change. This way, I get to know what an _actual typical price_ is for an item (lol Amazon has a little banner on one, “lowest price in 30 days”; I’ve been tracking it for 90+ days and, no, that’s the _only_ price for 30 days 🙄).

…and one from @Amazon_Seller:

> You can click on sale history now. It’s right next to the sale price. Shoppers can now see how the price has changed over time right there and then.

Sellers, how are you using native Amazon features for price tracking? Are there other free options from Amazon? Or are there reasons you prefer third-party apps to Amazon? What are your tips for Sellers to keep track of competitors’ pricing and conversion price history?

Is that on the app? I’m not seeing the option on a mobile web browser, I don’t think

ugh… I hate this new feature. We run a deal on our top seller for 12 hours a week, ever week… It clearly can be seen in the price history…. If buyers pick up on this and we see a sales shift, we are going to have to pivot…. We use those deals to acquire new customers for the brand, not to make a reasonable profit.

I had previously checked prices only on expensive stuff, but it’s easier to do it for everything now. When I’ve done it in the past, I will wait for the price to go down if the price often dips.

If you want to not show those dips, try coupons. Of course, those cost money.

Agreed! I have to tweak prices on a few brands in response to fluctuating competitor’s pricing.

And we all have increasing costs - fees, shipping, tariffs - maybe we should advocate for a Cost History too!

They don’t work like lightning deals. Plus we don’t pay deal fees bc of paying for SAS so it’s been nice. I’m thinking this won’t mean much for our type of product but time will tell.
