What does Amazon do to us if we have SSA and AHT, and we ship on the last ship date but the post office scans late?
AHT & SSA enabled AND you used Amazon Buy Shipping (you didn’t say whether or not you did use Amazon Buy Shipping) …
That would be considered a Late Shipped Order by Amazon. Because you have AHT, your Late Ship metric will not be hit. If the order is delivered on time, it would be no harm no foul. If the order is delivered late, it may or may not hit your OTDR but we would think that it probably would. There are some other variables like Promised Extentions that Amazon puts on orders which adds an extra day to the delivery date (something you have no control on).
If it happens once, it isn’t going to hurt you in the long run. If it happens all of the time, then you would need to get the scan issue resolved (use a different post office or become friends with the people running your post office so they take care of you).
None of the local post offices (I’ve used 3) want to scan more than a few packages for me at the counter. I have them do my most important ones, but that’s it. My OTDR is really good right now, because I ship the day before the last day, but if I have to ship the very last day, my OTDR will drop.
What is your Handle Time Gap?
2 days. As I understand it, under the new system after February, if our OTDR drops and we use Amazon Buy Shipping and we have SSA and AHT, we should be safe from deactivation. My concern is we would be in danger of something else that I’m not aware of. What would happen if OTDR drops and we have all 3 of those in place?
That is, we have all 3. We ship on time but it shows late because of late scan. Something arrives late. What happens to us? Are we still protected?
Review this …
Amazon Buy Shipping protections
We have already answered all of this above.
SSA enabled = Claims Protection
AHT enabled = Late Shipment metric protection
SSA & AHT enabled AND use Amazon Buy Shipping = OTDR Protection
Shipping early with AHT enabled = Amazon lowering your handle time on the item shipped early
Late Shipping Scans = you could loose any one or all of the protections … figure out how to solve the problem of late scans
No matter how many ways these questions are asked … the answers remain the same and the solution is the same.
Thanks. I know it feels like I’m talking in circles. It just doesn’t feel like we have protections if they can remove those protects for late scans.
Got my first order with SSA and AHT today. The ship-by date is Wednesday, delivery by Feb. 24. So far, so good.
Correct for a 2 day handle time. Now ship on Wednesday to maintain that 2 day handle time.
Does it show this on the order?
If it does, then your SSA template is set up correct for USPS GA pricing and transit.
I am confused by it says “Ship by Today” and "“verge of late shipment” on the quick filters when the order summary actually says “ship by Tuesday.” Do I go by the order summary or the scary warning on my manage orders page?
Those are filter tabs … sometimes they are wrong like today is a holiday and nothing USPS can ship out but they show last Thursday order as ship today and verge of being late … but they are not.
Yes …
Stay on the main page when you open Manage Orders.
Go by what the Ship by Date on the order.
Someone, somewhere is chortling with satisfaction. Working as intended.
