Our new van has a backup camera; nice, since the back is about 12 FEET (not inches) away (okay, not quite that far).
But it’s really taking some getting used to. It’s not a separate screen to look at; it shows up on the left half of the rear-view mirror. It’s very weird, because looking at the mirror, as opposed to looking at the reflection, is a totally different focus point. So when I instinctively look in the mirror, the left half is bright and fuzzy, because the camera view partially obscures the mirror view that I’m used to.
And I haven’t gotten to the point of knowing just how close something can be in the camera view before I need to stop backing up.
On the bright side, this van has windows in the sliding door, so I can actually see what is out of the right side! Our old one was a solid door; I got used to always using pull through spaces if I could, or in places with one-way traffic, parking on the left so that I could see what was coming. This is a big step up (it also has more power, more capacity, cruise control, power locks and windows, and a decent radio; all a big step up from the old one).
But I still tend to use pull-through spaces if possible…

OK gather round boys and girls so this one is about backing up your work/CYA.
I forgot to run the tmux command before starting today’s update and BBBZZZZTTT my desktop rebooted mid running update commands, so the SAS update process terminated.
Always backup/CYA!

Super quick update 10/07/2026, oh wow the quick text editor changed but I don’t hate it
Yeah that’s my one thing. I think they are making you look at the preview before hitting reply but I hear you loud and clear

We tried that but like the preview to see how it looks before posting. That extreme right position is just a PITA because of a prior broken wrist that never healed correctly.
Again just a wish
Def not as bad as the New Seller Central…
We’ll get used to it
Wow. Talk about a Low Bar!
