USPS Glitch

How can my label status say “pre-transit”, but when I look at the history, it has travelled to its second stop thanks to scans.

It’s an international (to Canada) shipment.

Depends on where you are tracking from (site wise). International shipments sometimes will show “pre-transit” till they hit the destination country. I have seen that recently when getting shipments from CA to USA

I assume the tracking starts CA?

Tracking starts here in my town in Alabama, then it went to Bessemer. Final destination Canada.

Sorry, I meant the tracking number, does it start with numbers or letters?

Where are you seeing “pre transit” … on Amazon or USPS site?

Where are you seeing the second scan … on Amazon or USPS site?

If you see “pre transit” and then a second scan on USPS, then there was no acceptance scan before the other scan.

OK, Etsy. Picked the wrong category here.

On Etsy, I see this:

The first one is right (sorta) because we do drop them off at the dock and they do get scanned by the end of the day and they head out. I trust them and my stats have been perfect.

The second one and third one were combined into one and on Etsy it says Pre-Transit
On USPS, they are on their way.

Letters…LV numbers then US

Yeah that pre-transit thing is an oddity of international shipments. Means it hasn’t hit the delivery carrier yet. Nothing to worry about

Pre Transit is when the order is place and in your possession (basically handle time of order)
First scan was the acceptance scan at USPS (example: Shipped on Feb 16)
Ship to is Destination (where it should end up)

In the image, it is saying that the Shipping Partner is GLOBALPOST and they had it on Feb 17 (first scan) at Prattville, AL 36066. It left there via the Shipping Partner and made it to the Shipping Partner’s location in Bessemer AL 36022.

GlobalPost is

primarily an international and domestic shipping carrier, part of the Auctane company (associated with Stamps.com) that offers affordable shipping solutions for small to medium-sized businesses to over 220 countries. They specialize in ecommerce, providing services like Economy, Standard, and Plus to simplify international shipping, customs, and tracking.

Key Details About GlobalPost Shipping

  • Services: Offers GlobalPost Economy (up to 4.4 lbs), Standard (up to 70 lbs), and Plus (up to 66 lbs).

  • Benefits:

What you are seeing is similar to the way FedEx SmartPost use to look like when you where tracking.
