Received a label adjustment from USPS adjusted from First Class Mail to Priority. Label was purchased 8/8/2021. Package was 9x6x1 3oz. padded envelope and was adjusted to Priority for same size. Any thoughts on how this came about? …recycled tracking number???
Of course I cannot provide proof of delivery on this old tracking number, but address on purchase receipt should be enough proof ???
AFAIK, Amazon does not provide you with a USPS Adjustment ID if you need to dispute an “Other” charge. Or any other useful information like tracking number etc. for that matter. AND they don’t notify you of the adjustment. Instead you have to pull teeth to find out what the “Other” charge is for.
And even when you can prove to Amazon it was a wrong adjustment and Amazon agrees to reimburse the amount, Amazon fails to do the reimbursement. (Been there done that).
Well, maybe they do provide an ID #… saw this in a NSFE forum topic just now but I have not checked to see if all the info is there needed to dispute.
Where Do I Find Carrier Shipping Adjustments?
Shipping adjustments can be viewed in Seller Central by checking Transaction View > Transaction Type: Shipping Services, then looking for Product Details: Adjustments. They will be linked to the Order ID.
Click the linked adjustment amount to see the breakdown of the adjustment, with the customer-entered/carrier-audited information and other details.
That’s only good if Amazon reports it as a Shipping Service when doing the adjustment. Most shipping adjustments are done under “Other” which has no information what so every.
Well. As it turns out this was an Etsy error and not USPS. Here’s the acknowledgment email from Etsy.
