Wordle is officially reusing words. Starting February 2, 2026, The New York Times began integrating previously used words back into the game to combat the depletion of the original 2,309-word list. While new words will still appear, players can expect to see past answers recycled, which may change the game’s strategy for daily players.

I was hoping this daily grind would come to its natural conclusion when no words were left.
The NY Times should never have spent a lot of money to buy the rights to the game.
