This from an email sent at 3:36 pm EST. from a Trust & Safety team member at Etsy. Just one hour and 46 minutes after we summited our appeal.
After reviewing your account, we determined it was suspended in error.
First thanks to my “Right Hand Man” a woman, who addressed this while working on 4 other projects.
Second thanks to SAS (Sellers Ask Sellers) for giving me a place to share, vent and get calmed down.
Here is the slightly edited appeal should another seller need it.
Etsy Appeal to permanently suspended (successful)
Dec 13, 2024, 1:50 PM EST
Your legal full name: My Real Name - Our Company, Inc.
What kind of items do you sell?: Items that I make
List all the locations where your current shop members are signing into your account: XXXXX, NH We may, on occasion, log in to Etsy when traveling to other areas to answer buyer messages and check order details.
Why are you appealing your account suspension?: I have not violated Etsys policies or had any account issues
Other reason: Are there any actions you’ve taken to address your suspension?: We have reviewed our listings on Etsy, all received policy violation warnings, as well as Etsy’s Creativity Standards.
We believe that the violation warnings and removed listings were done in error and that we have always adhered to Etsy’s standards. According to the Creativity Standards, products listed on the marketplace must fall under one of the outlined categories.
The first one states “Made by a seller: Physical items made by a seller by hand or using personal or computerized tools.” A majority of our items fall under this category, as further explained below. Additionally, we list a small number of items that fall under the last category, “Sourced by a seller: Items that enable buyer creativity, including craft and party supplies and items that are personalized with a buyer’s custom text or image.” We offer a line of liquid chalk markers that buyers can use to create their own art, or add their own lettering and designs to some of our handmade items. The bulk of our products are developed, designed, manufactured, listed, sold, packaged, and shipped from our shop in New Hampshire. We are a very small company, consisting of X full time employees, and we do not contract or hire outside help in the creation of our products.
Our in-house artists hand or digitally draw original artwork that is the intellectual property of our company. With this artwork, we create decorative and commemorative products for use in homes and businesses. We use various raw materials and small machines to print, laminate, mount, fabricate and finish the products completely in our shop.
Nothing is mass produced, largely manufactured, or made by any outside sources. We would be happy to provide photos and further documentation to show our processes and support this information.
How will your business practices change if you regain account access?: We will carefully inspect our product listings and ensure the information, photos, and videos is accurate and true. We will continue to only list items that meet Etsy’s Creativity Standards, and guarantee they fall under one of the outlined categories. We will ensure that all products are made solely by us, include original and unique designs, and do not infringe on copyright or intellectual property rights. We have been a seller on Etsy since 2012, and have a long standing record of positive buyer recommendations, reviews, and experiences.
Describe any extenuating circumstances that may have contributed to your suspension:
–
The last question we did not answer, though I wanted to answer NONE. My right hand woman is smarter than I so I took her advise. The context was, have you been sick, been in an accident, etc. etc..
I get that, kind of them to provide that out. Yet we were guilty until we could prove we were innocent. Sounds so Amazon, doesn’t it?
Now all we have is a banner to solve the last problem.
Your badges were removed because you received a final policy violation warning.
We are a “Star” seller, since they started that program. Not that I think it is very important, and we only lost if for a month or two when a “convo” did not get answered in time.
That is next, find out why when this was “In Error” they still did not remove this penalty.
Following that, remove ads 100% and move on.
“Be careful what you wish for, it may come true.”
Peace my friends.
