2 returns same item one RFS one standard refund

Anyone have this happen
2 returns same item.

The first return was RFS
the second one was standard. The only reason I noticed was because the refund didn’t post yet.

The 2nd refund was returned missing the retail packaging. I think maybe the buyer abused the return policy and is no longer eligable for RFS?

Yes.

No idea. Of my RFS eligible items, around 15% of returns are not RFS and I have never been able to figure out why.

Sorry, this should have read 15% of RFS eligible orders, not items.

We have had this happen with orders containing multiple quantities.
We have also had this happen where the Return Reasons were different.

I only see 2 return requests out of 16 in the past 90 days where this double return request occurred.

I saw this recently on an order of mine from Amazon. I ordered 2 of an item I needed and they took forever to ship and come in. I created a return because of the delay.

Item #1 was RFS
Item #2 was refunded after received

Full refund of the items

Correct, they could have been booted from RFS or it could have simply been a glitch in Amazon’s system (BIG SHOCKER, RIGHT?).

sometimes (like today), the customer did not get a RFS so I set the order aside and wait, It took up to a week for the computer to do the automated refund.

Then I do the SAFE-T claim to get the return shipping back.

IF I refund – I can’t do that.

Even had a customer message “yelling at me” because they could see I had the item and I said to them that “Amazon must initiate the refund and that should have happened when it was first scanned, please contact Amazon.” they did, I did the SAFE-T claim successfully. Sitting on one now.

I wouldn’t do this….if they A to z claim you, you will lose. If an item is RFS eligible, it will be RFS.

We got a lot of experience with this in December 2022 when basically our RFS when from like 99 percent of our returns to like 1 percent of our returns. I even had dialogue with one of the engineers who works on RFS and he confirmed they had changed the algorithm. This went on for about 6 months and then our orders changed back to pretty much all RFS again.

Point being, I found out real quick that you won’t win an A to z claim on the argument the return should have RFS.

I’ve seen automatic refunds take over 2 weeks for non-RFS and you are risking neg feedback, lost claims and no ability to file a Safe T claim due to waiting. For us, it wasn’t worth it.

Wouldn’t do that either.

If they A-Z you no longer can file a safe-T-Claim.
I just processed the refund and withheld the return shipping

OK, so maybe there’s something I don’t know how to do yet.

Here’s the order:

The goal is to be refunded the cost of the label or $4.02.

As you can see the customer stated size is the reason – and that’s not a buyer faulted return, so the only option I have is to do a full refund. IF I refund, I can’t do a safe-T claim.

OR I can charge a restocking fee of 10% without uploading photos to show damage. There is no damage. 10% is only $2.10.

I win safe-T claims in situations like this because the size is in the title, and in the description.

How do I withhold the return shipping? IF I could, then I agree, I should go ahead and process. But I don’t know the how?

you charge the restocking fee and just get creative with the %.

You can charge up to a 19% restocking fee without pictures.

But my choices are limited to the boxes?

ON THE OTHER HAND… I did notice that it allowed me to check the box to charge return shipping. When I did that – I got the result I truly wanted and Amazon reduced their refund.

Select other and you can manually enter the %
