For the 3rd time this year, i have bought a higher priced item, AC unit, a water filter under sink, and a portable AC… all of these items were shipped to be USED, CLEARLY USED, dirty.. and AMZN resold them to me as new… then amazon forces me to return said items back to them, which they will likely RESALE again… seriously what is happening? i tried to tell them the items need destroyed, not re-planted back into the amazon system… literally people are using the AC, breaking them and returning… on the AC, amazon would only issue a partial refund, because they said I WAS THE ONE RETURNING A FAULTY ITEM and charged restocking feee…

I have also had this happen to NON-Warehouse orders (Sold as new) both SBA and 3PS FBA, and yeah, they just get thrown back into the system cause it’s cheaper to do that then listen to the consumer.

I’ve never had this happen like this. I always get a full refund. This sounds more like a seller than Amazon.
Heck I got a full refund even though I admitted I just didn’t see a way to make the item work for my use.

Were your orders FBM, FBA, or purchased as Sold By Amazon?
If FBM, you should be able to file an AtoZ claim for the undeserved restocking fees, at the least, and likely for the return shipping.
Unfortunately, you can’t control what third party sellers do with their inventory or returns, but you can leave negative feedback with the words used as new in it which can trigger Amazon to look more closely at them. NOT: Do not leave feedback from an account related to your selling account as Amazon could construe this as feedback manipulation.
If FBA, I second @oneida_books that restocking fees and partial refunds are extremely unusual, bordering on unheard of.
Depending on the return reason and condition of the packaging (and laziness of the warehouse employee), it does happen that Amazon FBA warehouse employees might put a return back in stock even though it was used. It is usually pretty easy to get refunded for stuff like this, though.

Said “sold by amazon” “Shipped by amazon” - it was some off brand, but i mean they are all off brands now…

I cannot tell if this was warehouse or third party..
the Unit was literally leaking oil, the coil was ruptured, it had old rainwater and dust, hair.. clearly they packed it up in same box, they saved, ran it, broke it. returned it… i bought it, was shipped in an AMAZON box, with the GE unit inside the bigger box LOL..
