“Excuse me Sir, but seeing as how the VP is such a V.I.P., shouldn’t we keep the PC on the QT, cause of the leaks to the VC he could end up M.I.A. and then we’d all be put on KP.”
Robin Williams, Good Morning Vietnam
As a result of additional Marketplace Facilitator legislation going into effect in Minnesota today, 1July2024, I realize that I’ve been remiss in not adding this acronym:
“RDF” - for “Retail Delivery Fee.”
This has actually been in effect in Colorado for the past two years (which is why I’m feeling that I’ve been remiss), and the Editorial Team has now added MN to the table of affected delivery locations (i.e., which states have signed such legislation into law) to be found on the CHC (“Customer-facing Help Content”) page “Retail Delivery Fee” at https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GHY2HYVQF8MKXJH4.
There do not appear to be any revisions to the equally-long extant SHC (“Seller Help Content”) page for CO, “Colorado Marketplace Tax and Retail Delivery Fee Collection FAQ” (link), nor have I as of yet to find a new SHC page of the same type relating to MN’s newly-enacted law (which apparently has a much-less stringent transaction-triggering requirement than does CO’s).
ETA:
In a similar vein, I would suggest adding this acronym to the ‘R’ list as well:
“ROT” for Illinois’ version of somewhat-similar legislation, its “Retail Occupational Tax” - which is rather-more stringent still.
The SHC page for that is “Marketplace Tax Collection for Illinois FAQ” (link).
