Adding videos

When I add a video to MakerPlace can I get rid of background noise? On the other platform I am on it doesn’t add sound. I just film on my phone. Thanks!

Hi @Dani, you might need to use an app to remove sound before adding the video to MakerPlace, or perhaps mute your phone before recording.

But if there’s a native MP function to remove sound before publishing, hopefully someone will direct us to it soon.

@wadeorcas @LR72 @ModernSwitch @Dreamscape-Studio @meredithbead any tips?

I just realized in my iPhone I can edit a video and remove the sound.

Thanks for the call-out, but I’m the wrong person to ask about videos (which I have never done) or apps.

Sorry. I don’t have any idear either. Never made any video and don’t plan to either.

I had plans, great plans. I bought a beginner’s video camera and the video editing component of Photoshop. That was 3 years ago, and the camera is still in the box.

I did the same thing a few years ago, bought Premiere Elements to learn to edit videos and never got around to learning how to do it. There’s gotta be an easier way. I have an iphone now so maybe there’s an app? That should be on my year’s goals (again)…

I also bought software back in 2016 and I can’t remember the name and never got around to it. With 5 kids in the house there is never a quiet moment and so my quick videos were few and far between. However just discovering that I can edit a video just on my iPhone to remove the sound and I have no software I installed on this just whatever the factory photos program. Just click edit and mute the sound and save.

So now I’m just doing very basic 15 second videos showing a few products or zooming in and out lol with no sound. Very basic. Clearly a task to add something new into my already hectic adhd business. I don’t actually expect anyone to watch these videos but I uploaded one to TikTok yesterday and it got 2000 views lol so why not? Plan is to just upload to TikTok, Instagram reels, explore on Etsy and I guess manually on the listings? Ok blah that already sounds exhausting and time consuming :joy:

Yeah. I am not sure how to record without sound on iPhone. When I upload to Etsy it automatically doesn’t add the sound so I thought MakerPlace would of had it the same way.

THAT.IS.AWESOME. Wow.

Re: ADHD business, multiple minor kids at home needing parenting, and social media, I pay $100/year for software to post to multiple platforms at once and schedule in advance (when I do that, which is inconsistent). It legitimately saves so much time for me, plus saving and organizing my content outside of the platforms themselves. Mine has a desktop version and a mobile app that are synced, which I suspect most do, but that means I can record on my phone and upload directly from anywhere, for immediate multi-posts or to schedule them. I (reluctantly, not my actual career) manage multiple user accounts across FB, IG, LI, and Twitter, but not TT currently; I just checked, and my app has TT (and Google shopping) “coming soon”.

There are several good social media schedulers out there–probably some already with TT compatibility. Just something to consider looking into.

Unfortunately, my SM scheduler doesn’t access non-SM sales channels like Amazon, Etsy, Walmart, eBay…but there might be some out there that do. :thinking:

Understood … our thought was it was set to auto bump a little to close in time (excessive).

Not sure I’m a fan of the auto bumping. I get all excited thinking it’s a reply lol….
