AHT and Juneteenth

I have AHT and SSA. I normally ship in 2 days. I got an order yesterday, which would normally ship tomorrow, but Amazon says I need to ship today. Most of the time, I would just ship tomorrow anyway, despite what Amazon is telling me. However, with Juneteenth, I would have to ship on Monday. Is this going to be a problem with AHT and SSA? When I try to click Monday as my ship day on Amazon, it allows me to do it and shows me that I still get ODR and claims protection. Veeqo says I won’t have protection. Which is it?

… so it has only one Ship by Date?
… have you checked the handle time for that item as being reported on the Manage Seller Fulfilled Products > Product-level Shipping Preferences tab to verify how AHT is currently seeing this item’s handle time?
… what is the Estimated Delivery Date? If you ship on Monday using your normal method of shipping, would you expect the item to arrive on time?

Then we would buy it on Monday using Amazon to preserve the two day handle time and OTDR protection.

… have you checked the handle time for that item as being reported on the Manage Seller Fulfilled Products > Product-level Shipping Preferences tab to verify how AHT is currently seeing this item’s handle time?

It says 1 day.

… what is the Estimated Delivery Date? If you ship on Monday using your normal method of shipping, would you expect the item to arrive on time?

The estimated delivery day if I use Amazon with USPS Ground Advantage is Wednesday. With Veeqo, the same shipping method says Thursday.

What I’m worried about is I get to Monday and Amazon suddenly changes its mind and agrees with Veeqo. Anyone ever have that happen?

I’m confused about why you are shipping this next week, when the ship by date is today. Won’t your order be late if you don’t ship it today? Won’t you lose OTDR protection if you ship late, regardless of the delivery date?

Regarding your concern about AHT, if you habitually ship on day 2, shipping this one order on day 1 won’t meaningfully alter your handling time gap unless your volume for this item is very low.

I don’t use Veeqo, can’t help there.

My volume for most items is very low. For this item, it is very low. I want all my ship dates to be 2 days in order to make things manageable.

Shipping the day after the ship-by date has never been a problem with late shipment, but with Juneteenth, it’s not going to be the next day. I just need to know if it will be late shipment if I ship Monday. Right now, Amazon does not say it will be late shipment (according to OTDR and claims protections).

AHT is calculating that this item ships in one day.
Do you need it to be a 2 day handle time? … If so and with AHT on, you would need to ship it on Monday and then follow a 2 day handle time each time you ship it in the future. AHT would then correct the handle time back to 2 day handle time. Also, AHT should be set to 2 day handle time at item level.

Amazon could even slap a Late Risk Delivery on the order when you go to ship on Monday. But, if you want this item to be a 2 day handle time, you have to stand your ground and ship Monday. Whether you use Amazon or Veeqo and where Amazon says Wednesday or Thursday isn’t what matters if you are trying to reset the handle time to 2 days.

When you have SSA and AHT enabled, shipping early only invites chaos into your business as AHT is always watching and calculating and re-calculating. If you need 2 day handle time, then follow 2 day handle time 100%. Whether you use Amazon or Veeqo, ship as 2 day handle time.

Yes but Amazon doesn’t count it against your LSR because Amazon calculated the shipping date.

No, but if the selected shipper trips Amazon to put on a Late Risk Delivery, then maybe. This is one where you need to bite the bullet to get AHT to re-calculate handle time so that future orders are correct. If you maintain a strict 2 day handle time and don’t ship early, then the program works (we know as we maintain 2 day handle time with no problems with SSA and AHT enabled but never ship early).

I’m not sure I know what this means. Shipping an order late isn’t really late because of AHT?

I was under the impression that a late shipment had no protections, regardless of the estimated delivery date or the shipping method used. Granted, I’ve never tested it, but that was always how I understood late shipments. You are telling me this is simply not true?

The order is shipped late. With AHT enabled, the ASIN involved is not penalized with a late shipment mark as it is protected (effectively, when we have had to ship late to adjust the handle time of the item, we have not had a mark against our LSR). Look at the last line in the image … the way we have seen it implemented is no mark against LSR.

With SSA and AHT enabled … if you ship a day late, the ASIN will be protected from a LSR metric hit … AHT will use that shipment and all others to calculate the AHT and will change the handle time on future orders to match what you have been doing. Our LSR is always 100% and has been even when we had to ship an order late to get the AHT to be calculated correctly. Doesn’t mean we can ship a day late all the time but does allow for us to get AHT to calculate correctly. Our OTDR has always been 100% with SSA and AHT enabled (even when we had to ship an order a day late to correct the AHT calculation).

Late Delivery Risk badge means the order has no protection except with SSA and AHT enabled the protection against a LSR metric hit. Yes, no A to Z claim protection and no OTDR protection but, if you can ship and get it there on time, you are not effected with Amazon metric hits. The Late Delivery Risk badge shows up when Amazon doesn’t think the carrier can get it there on time. Shipping a day late does not mean that the Late Delivery Risk will be on all carrier choices. Yes, you are threading a needle with Amazon. No, we would not suggest a newbie who might not follow the guidelines to being successful with SSA and AHT enabled (because they either print the label early or ship early which messes up AHT calculations).

If you ship late, the Claims Protection is lost. If you ship late, the OTDR Protection is dependent on the carrier you select to meet the estimated delivery date. The Late Delivery Risk badge where you loose all protection appears when you select a carrier that can not meet the estimated delivery date … it doesn’t matter whether you are shipping on time or late for this badge to appear … it depends on how Amazon calculates that carriers ability to get the order to the customer by the estimated delivery date. If you have SSA and AHT enabled and ship a day late, the ASIN(s) in that order are protected from LSR metric hits / punishment.

It’s fascinating that it works this way since it that is not what it says. It very clearly states that you are protected from deactivation not a metrics hit.

You are describing a situation where using the automation tools which determine how long Amazon thinks it should take to ship, and then to be delivered, and then to automate our sales to meet that exacting standard, actually protects us from shipping later than the deadline they set?

How does this make sense? How is this not insane?

Amazon programming has never made sense. It is either a short cut in implementation or we were part of a beta roll out that worked this way.

On top of that, when you first turn on AHT for the first time, there was a 90 day period given for you to ship to your needed handle time with out any issues ( 90 day period for Amazon to learn your handle time ). We tried to find that page again but it is either gone or has been changed. When the Late Delivery Risk was introduced, it really messed with those of us who had AHT enabled … made us rework our shipping templates and make them more restrictive.

Now that we have expressed how LSR and shipping a day late has been being implemented in the open, it wouldn’t surprise us to see another change to make things more restrictive.

determine how long to ship … yes
determine how long to be delivered …yes
protecting us from shipping later than the deadline the set … to a degree, yes

I assume you’re missing a word here?

That’s insane that’s insane that’s insane that’s insane that’s completely and in its entirety BONKERS.

Not after the edits …

Up until yesterday, I could ship (with ship date being Monday) using Ground Advantage and still have claims and OTDR protection. Today, that changed, and they took away Ground Advantage. That is what I was tyring to avoid. :frowning:
