Hi folks,
We just got a fascinating violation on our Account Health regarding the safety of a product we sell.
The complaint included in the message details how the customer’s mother got severe thermal burns on her leg from our product, a water circulating cold water therapy device. They claim it must have been a problem with the temperature regulation or thermal delivery mechanism.
There’s just one big problem: it has none.
The unit’s water temperature is determined by the ice in the basin, and you wouldn’t put boiling water into it and try to run it to your mom’s leg (unless she’s your in-law, I guess).
So Amazon has asked us to send them ISO certified testing results and documentation, which we have, and will provide, but it’s worth a heads-up to other sellers that the fine folks at Amazon do not have the ability to fact-check customer claims and it doesn’t take much to trigger a takedown.
Stay frosty, friends.
