Who is seeing this, all brands in Amazon are now being gated gradually, and I am seeing alot of people posting it on the forums, I have a brand that I am selling that is currently active. Just recently, I wanted to list an ASIN for the same brand, and out of the blue, my account does not qualify, but I still have my other listings active and selling
Will they close my listings ?
What is really happening?
I have LOA, but now what I am hearing is that you must register by the brand in brand regsitry, guess what ?
Not all brands are even aware they are registered in brand registry
We just got bumped from an ASIN for a brand that weâre selling for the brand â are on their brand registry and transparency. Found out when âonlyâ 156 units went into stranded inventory this morning. And itâs the 2nd best selling ASIN for this brand. Off to find a competent seller support employee. Wish me luck.
Mine is actually till active, but we can not list further ASIN of the brand, but the ones we already listed are still active
Is it happening to anyone ?
Mine has been active for months now
It is a well known issue on the NSFE if you search there (yes, I know itâs almost impossible to do!)
This was (part of) my response to a booksellers post there -
"I donât know if there has been a general ânewsâ announcement, but this has come up in the Forum many times over the past few months.
If you are not the brand itself OR on their list of approved vendors you probably will not be permitted to start listings in many categories."
This has been confirmed by posts from various MODS there as well.
So for sellers who were lucky to have listed the ASIN before all these gatings, will still be allowed to sell
Because my business partners is selling the ones I was not able to list, so frustrating
On a related note, KJ_Amazon has begun posting links, over the last several days, to an SHC (âSeller Help Contentâ) page Iâd not seen before, âError Code 5469 and approval requirementsâ (link), which seemingly confirms what is perhaps the final evolution of Publisher-only restrictions which BMVD sellers have been discussing for years (even before the EPEG suit), as it declares that only publishers will be allowed to create new ASINs going forward.
Sounds like Amazon is following what Walmart just did
I never said that, and as far as I know, their new policy does not say that.
You are reading CREATE as âadd an offerâ. They have been saying for several weeks (maybe longer) that only BRAND OWNERS can create NEW ASINs.
They have their normal restrictions in place for sellers that are trying to add offers to EXISTING ASINs, so if you are having a problem with gating on an existing one the problem likely boils down to the ânormal suspectsâ â do you have an LOA from the brand? Does the brand have a whitelist and YOU are not on it? Do they not like your invoices?
Like everything on Amazon it doesnât appear that every product and every category falls under their new rules but it is extremely likely to expand. Think of Amazon as black mold on steroidsâŚ
