So if my Walmart Marketplace application process is all done except for the last step to add inventory and status changed from “Onboarding” to “Active” in the upper right corner after I finished the payment processor (verified and approved with Payoneer) section does that mean I am approved and I can start listing on there? Or is there another step to the approval process?
It’s been a while since I onboarded, but I believe you should be good to go.
Yup… That’s the green light. Congrats.
OK. Thanks. It was pretty easy for me. I got my EIN and waited like four days and then applied. I got everything done within an hour and everything got verified without waiting days or weeks like others had reported. Just now have to figure out how to list and get sales.
Question…is listing on WM same as Amazon where you can find n exsisting listing and jump on that one as well? Or do most folks add a new listing like Ebay? Also should we stay away from listings where Walmart is also on the listing?
Walmart has shared listings like Walmart, not individual listings for every offer like Ebay.
Depend what you sell.
Walmart is glitchier, clumsier, and less usefriendly than Amazon. You can do everything you need to, but be prepared to get frustrated a bunch along the way.
I can’t comment on some of these questions because we sell only our own brands.
But I can say This, all day this
We almost gave up. Took 3 solid months to get our listings up on Walmart vs. 20 mins on Amazon. I’m still patching all the holes in my walls that I punched. Just kidding on that but it was incredibly frustrating. There’s so much out there on how to do things on Amazon but very little on Walmart. If you think Amazon’s seller support is bad, just try working with Walmart’s.
Good Luck!
I have been spending hours a day for several weeks on Walmart.
I was also frustrated at how the system works, but I have found several ways and tricks to get listings up and updated.
When adding items you can search for existing listings and jump on those. Search by GTIN, UPC, EAN, ISBN or relevant keywords.
Import from other marketplaces.
https://seller.walmart.com/catalog/add-items?returnUrl=%2Fcatalog%2Flist-items
The catalog tab shows 6 columns buy you can check off all 17 if you want (wish it would save your last view). I’ve found the GTIN field is your friend on Walmart.
You can mass edit by checking off items and clicking download. This will create a file you import wizard into excel. Copy the gtin column. Go back to catalog button and click update using gtin. Paste in your grins and it will create a new download of those items. It opens in excel where you can edit / update fields for each item and you are able to now upload that file to make updates.
There is also a trick to show the hidden 1 row which reveals a version code. That code will only allow you to edit items but not add. But if you download an “add” template, you can get and save the add code. Then paste it into your edit template to allow you to add items. This works great for variations when you have lots of colors of something.
Anyway, share your tips too or ask if you need help. We can all learn together
We started on 10/1 and have 1100 order so far.
Thanks for the tips. Of these 1100 orders anout how many listings do you currently have? How are you figuring out what to list that will sell vs ones that don’t sell? Is there a way that you do research to find what sells?
Currently we have 4200 items up on Walmart.
Our orders on Walmart is still only 10% of what Amazon generates.
Amazon is becoming more restrictive so it’s best not to keep all your eggs in one basket.
We are in the beauty category and have a warehouse full of items. So we’re not actually picking an item here or there to sell. We purchase a whole line of products from the manufacturer and offer them for sale. If an item is slow we simply sell it out and not reorder it again, then try a different item. It’s not easy to know what will sell or not. We give it a try and see what happens. This method may not be for everyone. We have doing this for a long time and the space and resources to do it this way.
