Should I be concerned about future postage adjustments from Amazon if I select Priority Mail? Seems wrong for it to be less expensive than Ground Advantage.
You shouldn’t be. That’s just what Amazon is charging you. What the USPS charges them doesn’t matter
Didn’t this just happen with UPS 2nd day options being cheaper than ground?
And didn’t people get smacked with adjustments?
Amazon Buy Shipping has had some interesting pricing going on.
Reported and confirmed correct by a mod that a 3oz USPS Ground Advantage Zone 7 was $4.54 and a larger 6oz USPS Ground Advantage Zone 7 was only 1 penny more at $4.55.
We started tracking to see how different the pricing was. What is seen in red above is what Amazon is charging. This started when the update for the holiday surcharge went into effect on Amazon. We are sure the zones with no red are different but we haven’t had an order to those zones to check (yet).
In this next image, the prices are the published USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb) Commercial prices. The highlighted blue are the ones to compare with the red above.
It’s 60 cents … how many times is this happening to you?
We have a lot of ones in the USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb) that shipped with those red prices above as do many other sellers.
It’s Amazon … it’s Glitchmas time … but we think you’re safe on this one.
Are you shipping within the same State?
My Georgia to Georgia Priority is normally less than my Georgia to Georgia Ground Advantage, when over 1lb.
Yes, it did (citational references available upon request).
Yes, some did (again, citational references available upon request).
By all available lights of which I’m aware, it would appear to me that Amazon is STILL struggling to work out the kinks arising from various unintended consequences of its BSS/MSS revisions over the last 7 business quarters (remember the USPS GA-rollout Snafu?).
Yes, same state, 2 pounds 15 ounces.
For us,
1 lb and over will go Priority within our ship from state.
15 oz or less, will ship Ground Advantage.
We have not experienced any adjustments from these types of shipments.
Amazon’s buy shipping has been wonky for weeks.
All of a sudden they are pushing Fedex economy for us.
