I wasn’t sure where to put this, since it involves me as a buyer rather than seller. But the folks here are my go to with all questions Amazon.
Can anyone tell me if one can see pre-ordered books in your buyer account? I clicked on almost everything in there. I pre-ordered a book at the end of June, price guarantee of $72.94 when released. It is now listed at $83.95 for pre-orders. But I cannot find in my buyer account that I have pre-ordered it at any price. I also cannot find a button to get customer service without having an actual order.
Honestly, I have no idea if I received a confirmation email or not. Certainly can’t find one in the stack.
It only lets me choose past three months (which should cover it) or 2026. I do see an order before and after that pre-order, so it should be there if it shows up in the same list of orders. And I could not find anywhere else that might have pre-orders on their own.
I should have mentioned my account is on the Canadian platform. I did find a Customer Service button on the dashboard, where I can indeed click Help with Somthing Else. Then the rabbit hole. There are many areas to click, plus again Something Else, click. Then (I kid you not) my only choices are Amazon Community, which takes me to the forums, Return a Gift, which takes me to a form to do so, and Registry Discounts and Welcome Box. Nowhere can I type anything in to swerve out of this path.
You are right, not worth the money difference, but I too dislike this type of unnecessary insanity. I also wanted to make sure I had it pre-ordered, but don’t want to do it again, because with my luck, they will charge me for two copies.
Put in your initial problem
When it comes back for more type in “Need a customer service agent”
When it says but I can help you etc … again type in “Need a customer service agent”
It may take a couple of more times but should then connect you to a customer service agent.
Note
This was KJ_Amazon’s hack on NSFE to get to a customer services agent.
It is an unusual thing to do, ordering on the .com site, it think it was not offered on the .ca site when I placed the order. But I had brain food for lunch, figured it out after that
