I’m working on my ad campaigns within Amazon, and I found one of my ASINs that hasn’t been performing well was inactive in many of my campaigns. It says “Price cannot be found” and “Your offer is not eligible for advertising.”.
Last night I adjusted the price down 1 penny, and added a list price that was blank before. After a few minutes I was able to select this ASIN in my campaigns again.
Checking in today, it is giving the same error messages as last night. I’m also including screenshots of the listing summary in my Inventory Manager and pricing from the “Edit Listing” → “Offer” tab.
My account health is clear. Any ideas? Do I need to open a ticket with Seller Support?
In early 2024 (or 2023 … it’s been awhile) February or March, Amazon did a change in advertising which made it mandatory for items to have a List Price and a couple of other requirements (which escapes our mind right now). We have always had a List Price on our items but that price in Manage Inventory Edit page didn’t qualify as Amazon was not able to “verify” off the Amazon site (so we were told). We have not been able to run an ad campaign on our items since.
What we saw back then when it first was happening is that your ad campaign would show up for about 3 hours or so and then would disappear. When you reset it by 1 cent, it would appear again … and again for only 3 hours … and so the cycle went on.
We tried several different ways and never got it to take and stay … so we gave up.
If you do put in a ticket to Seller Support and get help, we would be very interested in what the fix is (although we think it is just Amazon controlling).
Another thing to note … we periodically get an email from Amazon to update our List Price because it hasn’t “changed and may need updating”.
Thanks very much for your reply. This lines up with what I observed. Once I get today’s orders out the door I’m going to submit a ticket. I will keep this thread updated with my results.
Opening a ticket is my last resort, but it sounds like that is what I need to do.
TL;DR: User Error (offer was deleted, made new offer with same ASIN, but SKU changed)
So, this is embarrassing. A few years back I had to make a new offer for this ASIN because I had an authenticity complaint, Amazon killed the offer. It is my brand, my sole custom listing, I’m the manufacturer, etc…but it didn’t matter. At the time I was happy to keep the ASIN, sales rank, and reviews.
When I made the new offer, I just switched around 2 letters in the middle of the SKU. Well…these ad campaigns were made before this happened. I never thought to go back and and re-add the ASIN with the new SKU. Apparently the ad campaign system looks at both the ASIN and the SKU.
What’s embarrassing is that it has been going on for a few years and I. Never. Noticed. Until. Now.
And despite my generous ad spend on campaigns that had multiple products, this ASIN, one of the more popular products I carry, continued to lose ground / sales against 1 competitor of the past few years.
This re-affirms my belief that all I know is that I know nothing.
@Setalpz we have all been there! Thank you for sharing this so that a fellow Seller doesn’t have to make the same mistake (or at least, can quickly go fix it!). Amazon is a chaos labyrinth, where it’s easy for the little things to get overlooked by even the most careful of us.
