Amazon just sent this email out to us (and others have reported getting it).
Hello,
Starting September 21, 2026, your payouts will arrive within 24 hours, instead of 3 to 5 business days.
Express Payout is now active on your account, at no cost to you. No action is required.
Your default deposit method supports instant transfers, so your payouts will arrive within 24 hours after they’re initiated, including on weekends and holidays.
If a payout exceeds $10 million or can’t be delivered instantly, payout will switch automatically to standard delivery.
If you receive payouts on an eligible debit card, payouts of $50,000 or less will arrive on your card within 24 hours. Larger amounts will route to your bank account.
To review your Express Payout status and delivery details, go to the Payments dashboard.
Before … most of us would have had to pay to get it in one day. It was available, but Amazon gets enough of our money so we opted to wait a day or two to avoid giving Amazon more money.
Wells Fargo show it pending and adds it as part of your balance but it’s not really yours to use until it clears.
I also thought express payout came with giving “the house” a cut to get my money faster. I do like this if it is truly no-cost. I just have two questions: 1) Just how long will this remain no-cost, and 2) what prompted Amazon to do this? I suspect a government agency investigation or some type of lawsuit prompted this.
For me, Amazon disburses on Tuesday, it hits the bank on Friday. Whether you count that as 2 or 3 days (since Tuesday is at 6:00pm), yeah, we have to wait, and longer than even +1 days.
I’ve not seen any notice that we’re going to get anything faster. But we do a pretty decent job of managing cash-flow; unlike some whiners on NSFE, a known delay in getting funds is baked into our operations, and doesn’t cause a problem. But faster is better; every once in a while, it’s awkward, like the payout hitting the day after estimated taxes are due.
This really has nothing to do with Amazon doing anything for sellers, it’s a change the Federal Reserve made to ACH payments a while back. Basically, they tried to make xfers within their system faster, cheaper because it’s the 21st century and it’s all electronic. You can look up the rates on the fed website but it’s absurdly low. Something like .00002 per transaction for what I’m assuming would be Amazons level. At one point I know they were trying to get us to sign up for a percentage of our distribution for same day payments which would have been a massive profit center for them doing absolutely nothing.
Pretty high, apparently; just got this for one of our SoA Accounts, with a Subject Line of " Failure to Transfer Funds":
The account number this particular Amabot judged as the default was indeed what we used from 112111 through 031126; as p/o of a housekeeping operation designed to accommodate the strictures of the DD+7 policy, we removed that from Deposit Method Manager on that latter date, added another to replace it, and once it had been validated, closed out the no-longer used account.
Between 032626 & 092126, the new bank account received Daily Disbursements with nary a hitch.
When our people initiated a Daily Disbursement earlier this afternoon, the above email notification was the result.
Despite any and all traces of the previous account having been removed from Deposit Method Manager, it now does indeed once again appear as the default, w/ the account which has been in use since the changeover also shown, as an alternate.
The Amabot assigned to execute the disbursement change, quite obviously, dredged up old, out-of-date information from somewhere in the deep recesses of Amazon’s bowels, and reassigned it as Default - in spite of what we’ve had set as Default for more than 6 months now passed.
It will not surprise me to learn that validating the same account that has been in use for that long proves more difficult than usual…
On a related note, I notice the mention of a Visa Debit Card being an acceptable choice for Deposit Method; this was somewhat presaged yesterday, with the 092126 News headline announcing the Express Payout Program’s launch, because the SHC page linked therein (“Express Payout frequently asked questions” [link]) itself includes a link to “Express Payout Bank Account and Debit Card Policies” (@ https: //sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/HRCBB7RE3HSLGHC).
Reviewing our last email from Amazon on sending us our payment we find:
Your payment is on the way and will arrive within 3 to 5 days.
On 09/21/26 04:58 PDT, we initiated a transfer to your payment method (bank account ending in 948) in the amount of
We received this email on: Sep 20, 2026, 11:58 PM (this is Central Time)
So 7 hours before doing our transfer, Amazon said they had already initiated our transfer and sent us the email that they hadn’t done yet.
We got the email about the 24 hour payouts at: Sep 21, 2026, 4:10 PM
Now if this happened “On 09/21/26 04:58 PDT, we initiated a transfer” and the 24 hour payouts was to start on 09/21/2026, then we should have had our payout today. Nope … doesn’t even show as pending in the bank yet.
I did a ‘test’ distribution today with a small available balance and got that same 3-5 day notice. I’ll look at the bank balance tomorrow as usual and see if it shows up, but I’m anticipating the normal disappointment that comes from dealing with Amazon.
