Amazon - Search Suppressed After Replacing Main Image

About 24 hours ago I updated my main image for one of my best ASINs. It is my brand, a customizable product, with transparency protection. No one else can sell this. I only changed the main image, I didn’t change anything else on the listing.

So I find today that my ASIN is now Search Suppressed:

The MAIN image you submitted for US/Global does not accurately represent the product for B07XXXXXXX or the product identifier you submitted is incorrect, in US/Global store. As a result, your image(s) will not be displayed to Customers. Please upload a new image or fix the product identifier. You may refer to the Product image requirements for more information.

In my original image, I showed the product customized with 5 of the different ink options. We no longer carry 2 of those options, so I redid the image to match the format of many of my other listings (that perform better). It shows the correct product, it is just more clear and more accurate now.

I like how Amazon can say that my image doesn’t match my product. It’s my product, I should know what it looks like. As Napolean once said, I AM THE STATE when it comes to this ASIN.

I’ve opened a case, but I never hold high hopes with Seller Support. Is this just a bot run amok?

I have since re-uploaded a picture that is more similar to the original, in hopes the bots would accept it. But it says I have to wait 48 hours for the changes to take effect. I have this ASIN on multiple ad campaigns and am working on A+ content to optimize this listing.

I can’t even modernize / update my product photos without an Amabot throwing a hissy-fit.

Rant subsided, but never over.

That’s odd. I wonder if they meant to say my ASIN was Search Suppressed, rather than account was suspended. My listing is alive, but no images are showing up (yet).

Sigh.

Even their templates are Amabugged.

I would recommend not changing any images for the time being. Amazon recently rolled out bots looking for watermarks and additional things (accessories) not included with the product. I suspect you got caught up in all of that nonsense with this suppression.

Happened to us as well when we changed a main image. Changing it back fixed the problem in about 45 mins.

Try adding more white space in the image, I noticed Amazon is cracking down on more main images taking most of the space. Just keep making changes, wait 15 minutes and keep trying. It is really the only way to figure out their more strict AI denying images. You also can see the error faster if you upload it via the image manager vs the product listing page. Hope this helps

I avoid changing images whenever possible because of this. It’s to the point that it’s less of a problem for customers to get a slightly different version than trying to get Amazon to change an ASIN detail page even if you’re the registered brand owner.

Yours is a bit different because you’re advertising something a customer will not get (2 ink colors no longer available). I’m willing to bet they will tell you that you have altered the image and that you have to create a new ASIN since it’s technically a different product (in their automated eyes). They will not care if the GTIN is the same. I have seen many examples of this.

I have a theory that every once in a while Amazon deviates from making things as difficult as possible and the odds of that are determined by something like a lottery system as calculated procedure to give sellers hope their issue will get handled.
