I am trying to create a Amazon seller account and I have triple checked all of my documents, address, name, details and i think its all right and what they are asking for. I keep getting denied and saying they cant verify me and they are not telling me an exact reason which is very frustrating. Im getting this email
Hello,
Your Amazon seller account cannot be activated at this time because we were unable to verify the information you provided during the account verification process. To proceed with account activation, you need to submit additional information.
I have made a case and tried to contact them twice and really no help from them. The only thing I can think of is my address on my llc and account is different then my address on my ID, I went and updated my ID address, but amazon wont let me resubmit anything.
Any tips or help at all is greatly appreciated.
First … welcome to SAS.
Amazon treats a Sole Proprietor LLC as an individual. You are correct that everything has to match as far as address but even other things need to match such as Joe is not seen the same as Joseph.
You may need to prove that you are in fact the sole owner of the LLC by providing proof which would be the paper(s) of the filing which has your name as the sole owner and that name needs to match the driver’s license.
Now before we proceed, please provide a list of the items you have submitted and the format that they were submitted in ( example pdf or jpg form ). Let us know what if any thing else didn’t match exactly ( like St is not Street). As you provide this info, it will help us and other forum members identify the possible issue(s).
Again … welcome to SAS.
Thanks for the response.
Ive made sure everything matches to the last detail.
I submitted all of mg documents that came with my LLC like the EIN pdf, articles of organization pdf, stamenent pdf.
I submitted a picture of my id front and back
I submitted a certified bank letter, since I just opened my buisness account and don’t have a statement yet.
All of the documents addresses and small details match, unless I’m completely obvious and missing soenthing I’ve checked multiple times and had others check as well and it all seems right.
Like I said before the only thing that I can think is wrong is the ID address not matching acc and statement address. I can’t even upload my new ID since they haven’t responded and have my acc locked.
Does Amazon give an option for a bank letter in lieu of the statement? I don’t remember that being an option in the past but maybe things have changed. You only give Amazon what they ask for and nothing more or less.
Humans are not reading these submitted files, AI is. If AI doesn’t get exactly what its looking for, it gets rejected,. This could be the issue.
This is another email I received.
We have reviewed the documents that you provided, but we could not complete the verification of your address.
As a result, your account will not be activated.
Why is this happening?
We could not verify the document that you provided because;
– It is not an acceptable proof of address (POA). As a POA, we accept official documents that contain the current name and address of the business or entity:
- Business extract or business license
- Utility bill (gas, water, electricity, TV, internet, mobile phone, or landline)
- Bank or credit card statement, or a certified bank letter
- Mortgage statement
- Credit union or building society statement
- Rent or lease agreement
- Tax document of the business or entity
That’s why I believe it is my ID. All of my other documents are good and matching.
Maybe … Amazon doesn’t like documents that have been download as a PDF and then sent. The way to get around that is to always make sure you print the document and then scan it on your own scanner or take a picture of the document (which tends to work best once it has been rejected as a downloaded PDF submission.)
With the US INFORM Consumers Act, Amazon was also mailing out a verification card with a verification number to be submitted back to Amazon.
The notice above does not mention the drivers license so we would be looking at the items that you submitted that are on that list … paying attention to name and address on the document and again … a PDF scan from your scanner or jpg image of it (don’t send a downloaded online PDF directly).
Once you don’t make it on the first pass, the verification process can take some time. It will take alot of patience and follow up.
Keep coming back and ask questions when in doubt especially before submitting. The forum may help you avoid a pitfall.
ok, so I’ll chime in here. Amazon is very literal.
The address on your documentation must match 100%. Rd is not the same as Road or even rd.
Every letter must match. Every . Every capitol letter.
Also, Amazon only wants EXACTLY what was asked for. If you send in a perfectly matching document and something in addition to that, instant rejection.
Final notes. Once a document is rejected, it’s blacklisted. Do not try to use it again. All files should either be JPG’s or PRINTER GENERATED PDF’s. DO NOT SEND A PDF DOWNLOADED FROM A WEB SITE. Print it put and scan/photograph it.
All the above may seem like it doesn’t matter or it’s silly, but it matters to Amazon.
And now that we think about it, the address on the drivers license is not the issue. A person will have their home address on the drivers license. That may or may not be the same as the business address. For some people is it but for others it is not. Our drivers license address is not our business address. We submitted our drivers license and a utility bill of the business with the business address and business name on it.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I did submitted a downloaded PDF so that definitely could be the issue. Once Amazon allows me to resubmit I’ll make sure to take the advice.
Really wish Amazon would just tell me the exact problem they have with it, would make my life much easier
Unfortunately Amazon doesn’t always know it’s own process or why it does things a certain way. Also Amazon doesn’t want to give scammers too much info on how to pass the test!
I second not sending a downloaded PDF. It needs to look like something you had in your possession that you took a photo of. If you scanned it, it needs to look scanned. The more amateur, the better. I make sure to do this with all documents.
Yup agree. We scan everything, which is ridiculous, but it’s worked well the last 8 years.
Welcome to selling on Amazon! This is just an introduction as to how they operate. Best of luck to you and welcome to SAS, you will get much better help here than…elsewhere.
Thanks for all the tips guys I will definelty be using them and this forum more. Any tips on how to contact support that actually answers? I have a case open right now and have been waiting on them to review it for 4 days and I have sent 3 messages. I just want to be able to submit my documents so I can get my account started.
Support has no ability to help with that.
How did you submit your documents before?
Have you been told “And we may no longer respond” yet?
I downloaded my LLC PDF from the website i used to make the LLC. And yes I did get that message.
No, sorry, how did you SEND the documents to Amazon previously.
So this is called the “kiss of death” within Amazon. They MIGHT respond if your submission is perfect, but they may not.
I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but I sent them by uploading the documents to the amazon seller central account creation/verification page. I was just following the steps the gave me and uploading the files where they asked me to.
And that does not sound good, anyway around that? I’m praying they respond
That’s what I was going for. This process has changed over the years that’s why I asked.
I will wait for others that are a little more experienced in account verification to respond on what next steps to take.
DO NOT, no matter what anyone says, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN ANOTHER ACCOUNT!
Patience can be key with Amazon. When they say they will answer within 48 hours, give them at least four days. Bots don’t tell time well. And if you keep at it while your case is still marked In Progress, or Pending or some such, the bots get annoyed and send you the message mentioned by Pepper. It can be nerve wracking waiting, with no clue as to if you will even get a response. Human nature is to just contact a human that you could speak with and clear things up in minutes, but this is NOT how Amazon works.
Fingers crossed for you, been there done that as the saying goes.
