Amazon Shipping - No OTDR Protected for 2 Day Shipping?

Ok … we got one going on NSFE about this. This person had an Expedited order with “Claims Protected” and “OTDR Protected” that was NOT covered for OTDR. We would think the same is going to happen on Economy orders with both protected statuses showing.

Incorrect OTDR Defect - Order 114-1529083-1672209 - Case ID 16681905841

The above thread documents with images what we were discussing. We requested mods to verifiy which is correct … Standard only or Economy, Standard & Expedited for OTDR Protected.

I doubt it’s all of them, but it could be more than just standard. I don’t think it needs to be Standard or everything.

I got a reply from KJ about my Expedited orders:

A rare about-face - I’ll have to check the SHC page Marbles refers to in the linked NSFE discussion upthread and see if the Editorial team has followed suit…

ETA:

Unsurprisingly, the SHC page Frequently asked questions about on-time delivery rate (OTDR) [link, Help Hub Rev.] does not yet reflect this sea-change:

The Editorial Team has long been notoriously-tardy in updating help pages (“In The Year 2525” seems to be their favorite theme song :smiley_cat:), but it will be interesting to note whether or not reports proliferate about Amazon making this development so, or not.

However, we are very skeptical about this inclusion of Expedited as “part of Standard”. One has to choose to click on Expedited in the shipping templates just as once has to choose Free Economy in the shipping templates. Amazon clearly says only Standard orders and excludes everything else but fails to mention Expedited as an exclusion.

Amazon is very aware of the issue with the “Claims Protected” and “OTDR Protected” labels on the Free Economy label purchases and that they should not be there. We would think that the “Claims Protected” and “OTDR Protected” labels on the Expedited would be the same issue.

We would not expect OTDR protection on Expedited until we see Amazon publish somewhere in the help pages or News that it is included.

Although we appreciate KJ_Amazon’s follow through, we are not completely convinced that the “team” gave KJ_Amazon the correct information at this point.

Time will tell.

Even Amazon is waiting to see if these claims will be covered.
Nobody knows anything, not even the people in the know. This is exactly the level of dysfunction I expect from a company as siloed, fractured, and bloated as Amazon.

What is this called, when we trust each other more than we trust Amazon, the maker and arbiter of all Amazon rules?
