As of today when I am trying to buy FBM shipping for my orders that are only 8 oz and ones that are marked as “Commercial” I am only getting Fedex options and instead of the normal USPS Ground Advantage/UPS Ground Saver options. So far this issue is only on this one ASIN. All of these are using the same USPS Template that I have setup before and no issues before. Also at the top of the order page it says “Shipping Service used to calculate Delivery Promise” it shows Carrier: USPS and Service: USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb). I have shipped many orders of this ASIN and up to now all of them gave me the USPS option and/or UPS Ground Saver. When I try to buy on Pirateship it will give me the cheaper options for USPS, but then I am not protected in case of late delivery or item not received. How can I fix this issue? I need to ship out 3 of these orders today and 2 of them is giving me this issue right now. Also the 3 orders that have come on today also are all commercial and they too are defaulting to expedited Fedex services instead.
When you click “See All Options,” does it show the shipping options you are looking for as grayed out, or does it show them as possibly late and missing ODTR protections?
The 2 options that I normally use for this ASIN are grayed out and it shows the following for them:
My template that I have associated with it:
USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb)
Does not meet business operating hours
Tue, Dec 24 $4.62
Also another grayed out USPS Ground Advantage option shows:
USPS Ground Advantage (1 - 70 lb)
Invalid address provided
UPS Ground Saver
Does not meet business operating hours
Sat, Dec 28 $5.17
Checking the delivery date on USPS site using Ground Advantage shows these 2 orders if shipped today will be delivered on 12/23 which is 1 day before the expected delivery date that Amazon is showing me. For these few orders can I go ahead and buy the shipping from Pirateship since it will be delivered on time and just upload the tracking number on the Amazon order?
Do you have business hours set up in your Amazon account?
Also,
You certainly can. You won’t get the Buy Shipping protections, but it’s probably the best option to resolve this issue, unless your order is expensive enough and has a profit margin that can support the expedited shipping.
Isn’t the business hours that they are referring to is the buyer’s hours and not mine?
You would think, but where would Amazon get a buyer’s business hours?
I assume it means your business hours, and that they think your business is closed and therefore the order won’t be shipped until later and therefore late.
I could be wrong, but I think you should at least look into your business hours, just in case.
I just packed a book this morning. When I looked at shipping options, the cheapest was 28+ dollars for USPS Express Priority.
This, BTW, was for a 23 dollar book. Amazon had promised the customer that it would be delivered on the other side of the country by Dec 20th, and had charged the customer nothing for the upgrade. They expected me to pay for shipping.
I told Amazon to go #$%^& themselves, loudly enough to scare the cats. I then bought normal priority shippping from a third party for under 10 dollars. It should get there by the 24th.
I am setting my account on vacation. ( I usually do this around the 21st or 22nd, depending on where weekends fall, but never this early.)
If customers want my books for Christmas presents, they can go to eBay. I don’t mind using high speed shipping to please last-minute customers, but I’m not going to take a loss doing it.
Amazon is giving the customers unreasonable expectations. I - and I presume other sellers - will just refuse to participate in this. Everybody loses - except eBay.
Even the cats are losing sleep over this.

Sounds like the business that you are to deliver to is closed next week and the FedEx options will get it there this week when they are open.
Checking the delivery date on USPS site using Ground Advantage shows these 2 orders if shipped today will be delivered on 12/23 which is 1 day before the expected delivery date
But if the business is closed next week then you could have an issue.

Yes

From their account …
You can use PirateShip or USPS.com but you will loose INR coverage. If it is an expensive item, we probably wouldn’t. If it is a low cost item, then we would probably gamble.

…
Business Buyers with commercial addresses have, for some years now, had the ability to set their operating hours directly in their Business Buyer Account.
A useful source of further information - among other pages applicable to the B2B Program - is the SHC’s Business Hour Delivery Rate (BHDR) [link].
where would Amazon get a buyer’s business hours?
When one sells to aggregators/libraries/bookstores or companies w/ actual business premises, AMAZON often lists the recipient’s business hours when a seller edits the type of shipping purchased on each order(our default is UPS ground. We send NOTHING by UPS, so must edit.) Saw this yesterday when we shipped to Paper Cavalier.
Suppose it has something to do w/ bring a B2B buyer-but we never signed up for this program, so can’t confirm.
