Amazon Warehouse Deals changes name to Amazon Resale

I might have missed this, but looks like Amazon Warehouse Deals has renamed itself to Amazon Resale

Good to know. I saw one a few days ago; wasn’t sure if it was actually Amazon or some other seller trying to pose as Amazon.

Since it was on a book that wasn’t worth listing anyway, didn’t dig deeper.

Does this indicate that there is a ‘truth in advertising’ move happening on Amazon?

That would go against their normal behavior.

I wonder if this a development that was perhaps inspired by this year’s re-launch of the FBA Grade and Resell (link, SHC) Program?

I mean I don’t hate the change

Waiting for a NSFE post about how they bought items from Amazon Resale to sell on Amazon.
:smirk:

There have been several recent postings on the NSFE about sellers buying on Amazon to re-sell. Most of them seemed not very good at arithmetic.

Is my selling a book I bought 10 years ago on Amazon considered a mortal sin?

Amazon reply …

Mortal Combat is in a restricted category or violates Amazon TOS.

Took me a minute, but I got it.

Would Amazon really go back through my 20+ years of selling and buying books on Amazon to pick out the few books that I bought and sold on Amazon?

They wouldn’t let me sell stephen kings fairytale 2 weeks after it was out. The only reason I bought it was because the hold line at the library was huge. So I figured I’d read it quick and resell it right away as I had done with all of his new release books in the past. Only this time it was blocked from selling it as used.

I am glad to see the name change. Warehouse implies maybe the box was damaged, resell at least you know someone else’s hands were all over it and that’s enough info to decide if it’s a risk you want to take.

I ordered a double stroller once from the “warehouse” deals section with “damaged box but item new”.

The previous customer had used the stroller for a Disney land trip, left a receipt for some food as well as a ton of crumbs in the stroller. Customers original shipping label was still on the box as well. This was about 7 years ago. :grimacing:

I did reach out to amazon and they gave a further discount of 50 percent off so I kept it.

But I expect them to still grade and describe. Often they say, like yours, “new but box damaged”, and you get something that was used so much it was broken - happened to me this year already.

Unless they fix that part of the process, a rebranding doesn’t mean diddly.

The important question to ask is: will Amazon Resale show its feedback rating like Warehouse Deals did? I always got evil pleasure out of watching their rating continuously decrease over time.

Warehouse deals hadn’t had feedback ratings for a few years now. I did not see any feedback on this “profile” either

Ahhh… I forgot about it getting so bad that they had to quit showing it so they could keep making sales.

IMO it had an excellent FB rating for a B Goods seller.

Unfortunately, other B Good sellers on Amazon are not identified as such.

IMO Quality pre-owned, used and open box products will push Amazon Warehouse Deals into a large area of representation on the site and muddy the waters.

Most of their negative feedback was struck out anyway
