Hemp sellers are finished on Amazon. ![]()
I’ve heard that before.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Please live post the entire webinar. That will be so much more interesting than trying to get search suppressed listings reactivated, which is what I’m “working” on…
THC is in every hemp product being sold on Amazon. Believe me
So you have to order test results through Amazon. Wonder if they’re getting a cut of the action.
To sum this up, its just the above sub cats. If you aren’t selling in these categories, there’s nothing to see here (for now).
Looks like there were leaks because the Intel we got from SSE was all accurate.
That would be quite unethical. Would assume that there were consulting arrangements where UL / NSF / Eurofins did some work for Amazon and will continue to do so for the ability to be chosen as partners. Still a little shady but less than kick backs you’re proposing.
I really wish Amazon was a little more upfront about what this was all about. That was a big waste of time but has us thinking about getting fully NSF certified. Right now only the facility is but we could / should do our products.
Because of Amazon’s now buddy buddy situation with NSF, something tells me that there is an NSF badge coming soon to an Amazon marketplace near you. That would be a nice feather in our cap and something nobody we compete with has. It’s not that expensive either. Last time we looked into it, I believe it was $4,500 per product per year.
Its the THC
Yeah, but with the booming business they are to get from this change, you might want to get in your “order” now.
I was wrong about the hemp. Not even in scope of this yet.
Did you learn anything useful?
We’ve forgotten more about compliance / testing / Govt regulations than anyone at Amazon will ever know. So, no… LOL
What I did learn is that Amazon is in bed with NSF and I think it makes sense to get full NSF certification for all products we have listed there now for being bullet proof in the future AND take advantage of an “NSF BADGING” program that’s surely in the future.
Our facility is NSF/GMP but our products are not NSF. $4500 a year per product for NSF to review 1 COA. That’s basically what it boils down to. Pay to play.
ETA - Just looked back to when we explored this last time in 2021. It’s cheaper than that if products can be “bracketed” - different potencies of the same nutrient.
So actually, it’s not that expensive for us with our main niche. I’m sure the price has gone up though since 21.
NSF Cert will also be helpful in the real world where we will be playing soon.
And of course that has never been an issue with Amazon previously. /S
It might not be Amazon “proper” but what are the odds of some off the radar ‘rewards’ to some Amazon decision makers that have influence and feel they deserve a free vacation, beach home, new car, or, offshore bank account depending on their level of power.
It seems that the company itself will go to just about any lengths to increase their hold on the economy as a whole.
There’s also the big on the radar reward to Amazon. How much did Amazon pay for NSF’s consulting services? It might be 0, or might be some $ amount, but I’m willing to bet they did not pay market value for their services. And NSF isn’t cheap.
And I will just ‘pile on’ by referring everyone to the post today by @Chimanimani and the WSJ story about ‘research’ if you missed it. Ethics, smethics. The Amazon way.

@dwat0870 I read your comment and quoted this ^ to come post @Chimanimani’s thread as supporting evidence, but then you already did. ![]()

For years, Amazon has rejected every industry group that wants Amazon involved considering their market size / penetration in the category. They had to get involved somewhere to take some of the heat off.
NSF isn’t exactly an industry group but it’s a start.
