Makes me happy that I don’t sell “bestsellers.”

I doubt that this so called Amazon Book Sale will be of any benefit to a third party book seller on Amazon. Particularly used book sellers. In fact it probably will reduce our sales.

I agree. I think–like Pet Day–it’s for Amazon and vendors, not 3Ps.

Sadly, I am constrained to agree with your particularly-astute assessment.

Sadder still, methinks, is the well-documented abundance of evidence that Amazon doesn’t give much of a damn, nowadaze, for the members of the 3P Seller Community who engage in plying their trade in the BMVD categories.

Maybe it will help…I checked to see what happens if I choose a book from their sale; they lead you to the whole range of sellers and prices including 3party sellers…and I just sold a used copy of one of the titles they are advertising, despite it being the lowest price and also used. Sooo…fingers crossed!

Are these bestsellers or are these Amazon overstock titles? or both?

My book review reading is limited to the Saturday WSJ and I don’t remember seeing reviews for any of these titles.

Which titles?

It seems they are advertising a booksale bit may be including all the books for “sale”. It isn’t clear if the “sale” is any different from any other day of the week… ?

SO now I see Amazon is advertising certain books for sale…but if you click on one, it still seems to link to the chosen half price book plus other regular offers from various sellers. I guess some sellers got to list some books at a special sale rate. I don’t recall getting an invitation to do this but I am a lowly fbm used book seller…

They clearly have chosen titles in a variety of genres,

None of them strike me as best sellers.

They are books.

I suspect Amazon chose them because they had inventory to clear or because a bot found a big enough discount.

BMVD Sellers like you literally built the fleshed-out foundations of The River, which the rest of us now sail upon, in some of Amazon’s earliest forays into the eCommerce realm that were originally designed to allow 3P Sellers access (Z-Shops, etc.) to its customer base.

That provenance in furthering Amazon’s success - indeed, its very existence - is no longer held in the highest esteem, as it once was, by Seattle’s TPTB.

No matter what changes come down the pike, I for one will always be grateful that Independent Booksellers continue to exist, and persist, come what may.

Very kind thoughts…, thank you DT.
