When we saw it yesterday, we thought it was for brands and assumed in brand registry (all though it could just be a brand recognized as a brand by Amazon).
Our questions were … where did Amazon get the images to base their AI imagery from and is that infringing on any IP or copyright rights? … how many issues will there be with “item not as described” where the product is actually different than the AI imagery? … will this open a new can of worms where copy cats use the imagery to sell their knock offs?
Could be that one program hasn’t been fully integrated into the program that will run it …
It is Amazon … and normal to roll out something that is not fully ready …
The AI generates a picture using the product from your first (primary) image. You specify as little or as much background detail that you desire. I experimented with having my handmade earrings displayed on an AI generated female and it worked nicely.
Although I have used other AI programs, my experience above was with using the Amazon AI tool. I saw a lot of potential for those of us who make jewelry.
I tried this with Microsoft CoPilot. I created a model, and then I started a new picture, “put these earrings on the model.” The earrings came out too large, so I wrote “make the earrings 50% smaller” but copilot wouldn’t change the size correctly.
Admittedly I did this for only 30 minutes, and I’m sure it takes much more practice to get it right.
With Amazon AI, start with the primary photo of your already listed item which is your earrings. Load this picture into the AI tool. Then type in the description of what you want AI to do with the earrings, such as place on woman’s ear. You can add details about hair color, clothing, or any background details, etc.
The tool will generate a small assortment of pictures that you can use or reject and do over.
I wasn’t able to upload non-Amazon jewelry pictures from my computer or at least I wasn’t able to figure out how. But I only played with the AI tool for a short while and I don’t think I saved my pictures.
I went to the image generator, and was surprised to see it was categorized under Amazon Ads. Under “add a product”, I inputted various ASINs and titles, and always came up with “no results”.

Is this not working for me because I don’t have ads?
I have not done any Amazon advertising in several years so I don’t know how it works for advertising.
I accessed the AI image generator when I was in the storefront creating new categories. I remember now that I saved the AI generated images for my newly created storefront categories if you want to see them. I also played around with listing photos but didn’t save any of those.
