Another contradiction-shipping dates

I have seen this the last couple months where my ship date says one day and Amazon says the next day (which to me would make it late)? See below as an example:
Order summary

Ship by: Tue, Jul 30, 2024 PDT to Wed, Jul 31, 2024 PDT

Ship by date: Wed, Jul 31, 2024 PDT

Deliver by date: Wed, Aug 7, 2024 PDT Unshipped (1)

Confirm as shipped by 8/1/2024 to avoid late-shipment

Similar to how the Refine by Ship by Date today will also show tomorrows orders. Or how the Ship by tomorrow will show the next days orders also.

Ship by today

It is either an annoying glitch or I am misinterpreting something.

Confirm as shipped by…

That is there for anyone who doesn’t use Amazon Buy Shipping services.
If you get your shipping label from somewhere other than Amazon Buy Shipping, you have to enter the information to Confirm that you shipped so that the transaction can complete.

Confirm Shipment Amazon Help

If you purchased shipping through Amazon Buy Shipping, you do not need to confirm the shipment since this is done automatically.

After you confirm the shipment, we do the following:

  • Charge the buyer for the order.
  • Credit your seller account for the order.
  • Send a shipping confirmation email to the buyer.
  • Update the buyer’s Amazon account with the shipping information. They can then see the status online.

I do not use buy shipping as we sell heavy bulk items and use LTL, and this is something newish that I have seen the last couple months-if it says ship by today, then why are they showing under unshipped, tomorrow’s date?

Because their code is broken. “Everyone” is seeing that same repetitive “contradiction”, and yes it started months ago.

Right, but I am referring to the Confirm as shipped by 8/1/2024 to avoid late-shipment if my ship by date is 30 or 31-If I wait until 8/1, then it’s late

:woman_facepalming: Yeah, I think I need to change my “theme” because bolded text just doesn’t show up very bolded on this one.

Yes, they don’t mean confirm that you shipped by 8/1; they mean confirm by 8/1 that you shipped if you use an off-Amazon service.

It is both worded poorly as-is and lacks critical information.

Now I understand. That makes sense for the message under the Order Status Unshipped icon on the Manager Orders page.

I just wanted to add a screenshot of how it appears on the desktop view.
