Another new A-Z twist

Time for a bump.

Just stumbled across this looking for something else, but I did a land-office business in “SAP recovery and rehab”, with contract programmers and former Informix employees, who left when Phil White got caught lying about sales and revenue on his reports to investors.

We’d take a Sun server or 3, load up some Informix, and make the databases that the customer WANTED, rather than the one-size-fits-all, “change your business to match our database schema” approach of SAP. It was a great business, as everyone was so happy to be told “SAP is GONE, what wouldn’t they give you that we can?”

Not sure where this fits in…
Another Amazon return scam: (Very long)

Way down in the details of the story –
“It also claimed that REKK paid thousands of dollars in bribes to seven Amazon “insiders” to help them process refunds.”
“When I reached out to Amazon for comment, its vice-president of business conduct and ethics offered me this: The company is addressing this issue “head-on” through “the development of tools that use machine learning models to proactively detect and prevent fraud.” Plus, the VP told me, Amazon is turning people in whenever it can. “When bad actors attempt to evade our controls, we take action and work with law enforcement to hold them accountable.””

Sadly, we all know that Amazon “head on” means round about after round about followed by zipper merges and crashes.

Just like they took it seriously when I told them a Chinese seller contacted me directly on an e-mail I only use for amazon. I left a justified negative review with pictures and was asked to remove it in return for free products.

The seller is still selling.
